Gotta drop 3/4 of a 2x6 35mm over 3m.
The other 1/4 has to split 5mm to nothing at the centre point and 15mm to nothing from the other direction. But I won’t kerf those. I’ll just cut the line w my shining new saw and chisel it out.
No way I would kerf those either, I hear ya.

To be fair, the 35mm drop was far worse. I cut a guide for it. It’s about 115mm across so I can’t just cut it on edge. Blade isn’t deep enough. The smaller side I can, so I will. It’s only about 35mm deep.
Honestly I wish electronic music was more like carpentry. Physical. I can’t stand the screen after a while. I want to be able to pick up clips and drag em across the room. Take a multitool to an audio file.
Paradise.
Not sure what kind if dust you should expect from such a procedure.

Got a bad case of Screwgun grip, you know that thumb knuckle on your grip hand just gets wasted when you come out of retirement.
Well I hope she can place many lovely knick knacks upon the shelf that your humble motu bled so valiantly for

Simple solution. Don’t retire.
That’s my plan 🙄

I stocked up on some power tools as well:
A GCM 8 SJL and a GKT 18V-52 GC plus some guide rails for long cuts.

Sounds like you could have fun with a modular, where at least you could interact with the tool through pressuresensisitive, conductive, possibly magnetic reactive modules. Not up to date, yet I feel there should be even more available now then it was compared to a while ago.

Btw got the Neve channelstrip from Plugin Alliance.

Amek 9098i Master Console:

https://plugin-alliance.com/en/products ... _9099.html

Pretty transparent sounding.

Liking the filters + compressor quite a lot aswell.
I already got quite a bit of colouring stuff, felt like it could be handy to have some more transparent options aswell like for a little more traditionally orientated song containing piano and alike. They still got character anyway, especially if you turn them up a little more.

If you get enough physical instruments, electronic music can be very physical! Not a new purchase, but I just dug the V-Drums out of the basement and built a completely different kit. The idea is to keep the pads far apart so I have to actually MOVE to play them.
The idea for the setup came from a recent electronic music event I went to and was getting somewhat bored with folks on the iPad or laptop. Even the modular folks don’t move much, so I wondered “what if I built a setup that was intentionally ‘difficult’ to play physically. At least, as much ‘difficulty’ as would look good on stage from a visual perspective.

So in the sense I’m hammering the pads and moving around the room, it can be a BIT like carpentry…but minus the dust.

Rode NT1 / AI-1 Kit.

NT1 microphone - sounds delicious.

AI-1 audio interface, with Audio-Technica ATH-E70 plugged into it - well, to quote Steve1989 "Nice hiss!" : / (The future points towards a Motu M2 that a lot of people swear by in its range.)

And Reason 12 upgrade of course, which is doing great!

TC Electronic Infinite Sample Sustainer.
Stone Deaf Noise Reaper noise gate. (Apparently based on their Fig Fumb circuit so what could be more appropriate for the Figgster. )
