Did you know that was gonna be The Monkees next song before they decided they wanted to write their own material? so they went off doing that and the record company put together The Archies instead.

They are quite similar in nature. Dr Jones from Aqua is a typical specimen of the 90s dance formula (@138 bpm), which Caramelldansen draw some inspiration from, but it also weaved in some 90s rave clichés with a more up beat tempo (@165 bpm) and higher pitched voices, like from "dune - hardcore vibes" (@164 bpm).
The 90s were a real fun time wrt electronic music. There was this very positive vibe to it, which Caramelldansen taps into.

This is objectively correct.
Basically if the forum were to arrive at a decision about the cheesiest song it would likely also be my favorite.
- Shocker: I have a SoundCloud!
Maybe you're thinking of Ashanti which is on the same album?
Ray of Light is vaguely trance house with some guitar links, she kind of caterwauls at the end, and has very suspicious red eye in the video
Yeah prolly
Ray of light is ok though. Pretty ecstatic.
I got a little time for mads.
Orbital did a great remix of bedtime stories.

Life is a Rollercoaster by Ronan Keating (who used to be in the Irish boyband Boyzone)
Its played on UK radio a lot and the other day I had a chuckle to myself when I was forced to admit its objectively a pretty good song with 2 or 3 hooks. No doubt it was put together by a song writing and production team rather than written by Mr Keating - I could be wrong though.

I so want to get out of the UK to visit my cousin in Sedona and do this.
Here's Keith, Gram and Anita UFO watching in the desert
Excellent. I didn't know that. For me that makes the Madonna track half remix, half cover and 100% William Orbit geniusTiny Montgomery wrote: ↑23 May 2021Ray of Light is a fantastic song and was actually a cover of an obscure folk track
So original lyrics. "Sepheryn..." or "Zepher in..." ?
More covers than you ever knew you wanted, including some old geezer called Iggy, here:

I never heard of Modern Talking until I moved to Vietnam. The Viets seem to love this song, as I hear it everywhere. Apparently Modern Talking were really big in Germany in the 80s?
Another supercharged cheese hit from Modern Talking
This song came up on autoplay right after that last Modern Talking song. Pretty cheesy, but I've got to say, I kind of like it.
As one of the comments says:
Jamaican singers
In a German band
Singing an English song
About a Russian guy
With Asian outfits
Filmed in Poland

CBA to look it up now but wasn't Maddy's first hit album just a Nile Rogers / Bernard Edwards production in all but name? (as is Duran Duran's The Reflex, Bowie's Lets Dance etc etc...)

I've got a tragic thing for syrupy 1970s power ballads and any contemporary artist who can reproduce them
Like this dude, Roger Joseph Manning Jr who used to be one half of the pop songwriting genius that was Jellyfish. His solo stuff can be pretty patchy, but every now & then he just knocks one out of the park. This for example, which is hands down the best song The Carpenters never wrote

Also I've been getting into a lot of disco and disco-adjacent music that I hated when it was around. The other day I was in the supermarket and a Hall & Oates song came on. I fucking hated those guys back in the day, but suddenly I found myself thinking "Hey... this is pretty good". A bit more research revealed that those boys had some banging tunes, as I will now readily admit
I recall secretly liking it at the time. Still a great song but the production is very much of its time. Maneater is easily their catchiest song.dvdrtldg wrote: ↑25 May 2021Also I've been getting into a lot of disco and disco-adjacent music that I hated when it was around. What I can't forgive is that moustache. The Borat of the 80's?
Where did you/do you live there?
I lived in Taos for a while. Loved it.
Spent a lot of time watching the sky there.

we'd go skiing at sandia, santa fe, taos, purgatory and wolf creek in colorado
i was never a goodgood skier like my friends
i always had to snow plow
after the bar closed one night, we drove to the top of the sandia mountains
by the radio towers and did a little golfing / driving range action
(i think the elevation is 10k feet)

I think this is friggen amazing, and my neighbors have listened to it as many times as I have. We all love bass heavy music cranked as far as the subs can handle.
I like playing embarrassing stuff in my car when nobody can hear, find a new appreciation for stuff that way. BeeGees - Stayin alive - I know you know it, but have you ever cranked it and sung along, well it's great and clever and worthy of its once great stature. So is anything that was once great and now considered embarrassing, ABBA, you name it, crank that sh*t in your car it's friggen timeless!
