The very fact that a well articulated idea is met with insults and slander and not thoughtful debate is precisely why I hold my position. I see few who are able to think critically outside the narrative bubble without getting emotional. Emotions have no place in scientific debate.

Total average deaths is much different than "excess deaths", another narrative phrase that can be massaged in any way. Total average deaths was lower in 2020 than 2019.

Do we really believe the big tech & pharma partnership have your best interest in mind?
Link to stats please?

I'm happy to just debate it. I'm not trying to shut anyone down.
I've been trying to work out the various ways the figures get presented from the start and they seem all over the place and shifting.

I assume excess deaths means a leap from the projected average, right? So 23% deviation as opposed to 1-2% projected.
Another is showing the projected 1-2% increase over 2018-2021, not the 23% that artical is claiming, but that's not a drop.

Like you I'm inclined to question the stuff we get fed but that doesn't mean it's inherently wrong.
Post a link?
At a glance I can't find anything supporting a drop in death rates in the US (for example)

So here in The Netherlands the government just announced another "break" in vaccinations with the AstraZeneca vaccine after a woman died from blood clots/thrombosis. It's a pretty weird situation where on the one hand I feel like they're making a mountain out of a molehill, as you're still far more likely to die driving a car than taking the AZ vaccine. Yet on the other hand public opinion seems to be shifting against continuing with the AZ vaccine and I can sort of understand this as well, there are plenty of alternatives now so there isn't any justification for exposing any (randomly selected, or less randomly selected) contingent of the population to the extra risks that the AZ vaccine seems to come with, while others get the "safer" vaccines.

It's a real quagmire...
In the mean time I'm wondering when (if ever) I will get my second shot (of AZ)

Yeah, that's a weird one. You've already gone No.1. I guess you'd go for No.2 anyway?
I don't see if there were underlying conditions but the ages of women effected in NL are 25-65 so not an obviously specific group. Do you know anything about that off hand?

I'm guessing likelyhood of dying of covid is prob far less than a car accident across the entire population. Would seem odd if they started applying that logic now and just rolling out the AZ with acceptable losses so to speak.
