Nice. I'd love to try to make something like this someday. So far it seems I just don't have it in me, even though when I'm in the right mood I enjoy stuff like this.rorystorm wrote: ↑01 Jan 2021It's hard to say - I've been making some of the best music of my life over the last year which is weird considering what a ferk shit storm its been. After a long absence I've rediscovered my love for the experimental end of ambient music. I've been pretty busy and made a few albums in that genre, also some acid house and some dub techno. Plus I've recorded the music for a triphop album but I'm still working, slowly, on the lyrics which so far hasnt gone so good.... however I've leveled up on my production skills a little which I'm pleased about because they've always been a bit shit.
Anyway, I more or less chose this track at random but it represents where my heads at. I'm quite pleased with how its quite static in its structure but moves towards being more musical as it progresses without sacrificing its abstraction. If that doesn't sound too pretentious....

Cool. Very much a water/ocean feel to this song. I like it.
Thanks. Glad you like it.
Yep, the underwater ocean thing is what I do.

First post here, I've lurked a bit and signed up a while back, and had a similarly unused account on a previous incarnation of this forum, I think.
Anyway, proudest moment of 2020 is getting this track featured on the soundtrack for the DEF CON 28 hacking/infosec conference. They had to do everything remotely due to COVID, so the cassette copies are pretty rare but it's on Bandcamp and Spotify and so on.

The last day of the year, where I officially fulfilled my commitment to write 6 songs each month of the year. 72 new songs over a year is a lovely achievement, and I'm very proud of myself.
I write acid music in Reason and perform live on a bunch of machines without computers.

I have been considering obtaining an acoustic bass lately. Local stores sell only cheap crap, over priced name brand crap, and a few unaffordable (for me) nice instruments. So, I am compelled to buy online, doing research through this website. In researching what to get, I have decided on a number of features I would like. First of all, I want a high quality instrument that will hold its value, so I can resell it without a huge loss, if I decide it's just not for me.
