he changed them quite a bit from the original as i understand..but what software did he use to do that?

To me it sounds like sped+pitched up, EQed and then drenched in reverb also an added delay and a bit of autotune.

I don't know what he did but it certainly didn't end very well for him. Would proceed with caution, if you ask me.
