what is this sound made from? is it a kick that changes volume pitch or is there a bass sound also there? what causes that sound to be made

There's a kick every 1/4 and a bass playing 1/8, something like A1-D2-F2-A2 A1-D2-F2-A2 C2-E2-G2-C3 C2-E2-G2-C3, transposed, I don't hear absolute notes.

Keep listening: At about the 2:20 mark you can tell that a low-pass filter is being opened up, and some sort of percussive instrument is in the mix, sort of a marimba-like sound.
