Every time I played it, sounded exactly the same - is that what's supposed to happen?
I don't hear Shepard tones in this example because it goes up, then right back down (as opposed to always up or always down as a Shepard tone does).

I didn’t even listen to it. Just assumed it was another Shepard tone video when in fact it was just a silly noise.

If you don't follow the rising pitch and focus on the highest tone instead, the effect is gone.
