Besides Hitfilm and Ignite, it's cheesy action fx for the most part.

Hitfilm for $30 is a steal considering their Black Friday pricing was well over $150. The cinematic LUTS, Action Pro, and lower thirds, only make this deal sweeter.

So ... compared to FCP, anything to write home about?

My NLE of choice is Vegas, but I've used older versions of Hitfilm in the past, when it was purely a compositing tool (like After Effects) and not a full blown NLE. Hitfilm is optimized for visual effects, advanced compositing, particle effects, tracking, and other advanced effects.

I always liked Hitfilm, and would've used it a lot more if I had a constant need for all that effects processing. Ultimately, Vegas is more than adequate for the majority of my video work. But for $30, Hitfilm is a no-brainer.
