The most entertaining threads are just after a major point release of Reason. Entertaining but not necessarily good.

Taking this a bit more seriously...
I love technical threads, ones where I learn something useful. They can start in many ways but the best ones for me are where I learn something I didn’t know in a succinct, easy to understand fashion. Graphs and visual aids are always appreciated and so are an explanation of technical terms. Language shouldn't be a barrier to understanding. One guy does these posts very well... you know who I mean. But frankly the knowledge and talent base of this site is always impressive.
One thing that can quickly destroy any thread is two people getting into a pissing contest over some point or issue. It happens everywhere on the internet but when it ruins a good thread I want to bang their heads together.
For non-technical threads I'm interested in emotive or interesting topics debated in a revealing and informed fashion with humility and humour. Conversations are interesting when two people are listening to each other and not just talking AT each other.
I like list topics too. Your 5 favourite... but these can get banal if the topic is of throw away interest.
And yes, I sometimes I like a bit of drama or a moan fest when I agree with the issue. But these usually go on waaay too long and end up dull. E.g. as a R10 user I didn't like the R11 update but I'm over it now. I understand why they did it and no doubt it is very successful, just not for me... yet.
It's probably easier to list what makes a bad thread or makes a good one go bad. I won't bother listing them as it's an obvious list. And for many years when I was drinking I could be one of the arseholes screwing up a thread for my own ego and entertainment. Hopefully less so now.
But that kind of sums it up for me. Good threads tend to be where the topic is discussed in an informative and enjoyable way without it becoming about the writers themselves or their values. That's my preference.

No matter how well intended a thread is, usually me or some other numskull will misunderstand what is written and throw everything into a tailspin. Language barriers are for real and humor doesn't translate very well. Which is why so many threads are bad.

I'm always happy to read long threads discussing Reason functions, even if they aren't 'advanced' level of talk. Then if I even understand the concept, I'll try and replicate it in Reason in the hope that it gets forged into the memory for later use.
In saying that, general conversations that shoot off are also pleasing to read. And I don't care if some chats go off the rails.
But when there is a new Rack Extension thread started, my pet peeves are
1. No link to the store, and no image embedded
2. These threads going off the rails very quickly, about stuff totally unrelated to the release, before the thread dies from inactivity, and there being too little chat about he product itself.
What makes a shit thread though, is people who post with very few words so the post is cryptic, or do the 'too lazy' TL;DR buuuuut.... blahblahblah ima comment anyway"

Yeah I think it was Zac. And that “too long didn’t read” thing he/ she wrote annoyed the fuck out of me.
That said, if the “oblig” which came before it was poking fun in a friendly ironic way then I’ll drink some tea and calm down.

An example off the top of my head is 'The Psq Appreciation' thread by Artkuko i think the chap's name is (respect!|). He came up with a system of letting the psq write entire pices of music ...each intrument with a different rythmn yet by using the scales and chords player in a clever way ..making sure that each instrument stayed within the chords set within a track. Incredible and... many thanks . I say this as i just stumbled across it a few months ago and it forced me to get a little nerdier with Reason (in order to keep up with such threads!)
