Hope he keeps the old logo on the laptop, it is more retro than the new boxy one. Reason 10 is still the old logo...

It is often that a certain type of music are more used with Reason. As with that kind of electronic music above, Reason is more than capable.
One can use Reason as a pro, especially with all the RE options as well as VST support, and now even more with Rack plugin, but certain styles are better suited than others. Singer Songwriter is also a genre that could be well made with Reason only.

But it is seldom we see big composers use Reason, or if having a lot of live instruments to track and mix with countless tracks, but that is simply because they have better options, often going for NI paired with ProTools or Logic, where video support is good, and where sequencer and stock functions are more advanced than in Reason. Also workflow with stacking tracks and folders makes a huge difference. Then those with more resources and wanting old style hardware replicas, turn to UAD and its expensive plugs, and then they can use whatever DAW with that.
But it is good that Reason Rack is now also available as an option so that more studios and producers can use those devices too.
Hope Reason keeps developing as a standalone DAW in the light of getting more users, then I am sure more and more will also start to use Reason as a standalone at certain projects.
