Hi All!

Trying to find out what type of video camera is used in the Big Brother house (UK) in the bedroom at night. It really shows up everything and the bedroom is pitch black. Think the same type of camera is used on wildlife documentary's to film animals at night.

Something's happening in my sleep to 'cause me to wake with a migraine so wanna try and film myself. Maybe bruxism, maybe sleep apnea, maybe sleeping in a funny position, night terror's perhaps, who knows.

Thanks!

In this fake show the room will be well lit with IR LEDs and the cam is just an ordinary high res IR cam.

Sure it's pitch black, well not lights on anyway unless there is another kind of light on but not (in the words of Peter Kay) with the big light on lol!

Yeah it's not just the camera, they use IR lighting when the regular lighting is switched off.
If they had a powercut and the camera's were running on batteries the 'night-vision' would be a lot shittier.
@pushedbutton on twitter, add me, send me a message, but don't try to sell me stuff cos I'm skint.
Using Reason since version 3 and still never finished a song.

There are cameras with built in IR LEDs, but since they're on axis with the lens, they give you that creepy deer in the headlights look. Shouldn't be too expensive to create your own version of Paranormal Activity. Quality should be enough for educational puroses.

I didn't mean to make fun of your situation if it came across like that, sorry!
It's just that the videos themselves look indeed creepy, I've seen the video feed over at a friend's house when they were occasionally checking on their sleeping baby in another room.
So the biggest challenge is to find a camera that records a whole night and allows you to watch it afterwards. Maybe the wildlife cameras are the way to go, since they only record if there's movement and don't need any connectivity:

Here's a great example of that creepy deer in the headlights look:

There are also cameras like that, which allow for monitoring /security once they detect motion, but I'm not sure how you would record videos with it:

No it's perfectly fine. I may have worded it wrong, I was thanking everyone.
