That's very true, money is a big factor, and probably has more to do with it than all other possible explanations. It's been so long, that I forgot how really poor I was back in college

* "Youngsters of today" don't use forums anymore and only hang out on the currently hippest social media site/app.diminished wrote: ↑27 Jul 2019I'm a bit surprised by the results, too. Several reasons (and likely a mixture of those) might exist:
* "they" have better shit to do than to post on a forum (think: work, friends, more important ways to spend their free time on)
* "they" use other platforms of communication
* "they're" not interested in talking / not invested
* "they" use another DAW

You're like the young dude in Children Of Men. We're a dying breed.
I gave company to the other one in the 27-29-er. One day son, you'll be wise and mature like us! x )
You can’t ask a question like that without saying how old you actually arewendylou wrote: ↑29 Jul 2019Am I really the oldest one here? Really?? Who else started their MIDI life detour on an Atari ST with Steinberg "Pro 24 III" ?!?! Gotta be some more of us out there. I'm glad I still make music with the same interest as when I started. Reason is the DAW I always hoped for all all those years.![]()
Ooh, a pacemaker as an extra sound source. There's a thought. Would it have a slider on it so you could trade off the pace making with the synth engine?
Well, I ticked that 1% vote in the age poll and no one is older, hint hint. I look way younger but, yeah, I've been around the sun a few times! Still rockin' and tick tockin'. I figure age doesn't much matter, especially with music-making, though it's ironic that now that I finally have the best tools to make music, my genre went out of style!MrFigg wrote: ↑31 Jul 2019You can’t ask a question like that without saying how old you actually arewendylou wrote: ↑29 Jul 2019Am I really the oldest one here? . Atari STs and Amigas here too. My friend even wrote code for a ZX Spectrum to turn it into a sampler. Sounded like total crap (48k RAM) but impressive all the same
