Hi All!

Was tryna learn Ed Sheeran's "Lego House" earlier tonight. Got the chords down for the verses.

Starts on a B powerchord picking the top bass string with your thumb then the middle 2 strings with your middle and ring fingers. Here's a tutorial vid.

Does anyone know if this picking technique has a name?

Thanks!

this is a basic picking technique that changes very straight between bass notes and chords. Should therefore have no special name. the next step would be "Travis picking" or "John Mayer picking".

I've never known it by any specific name. Here's an article that describes this, and other fingerpicking styles, some of which actually do have names :)
