My problem with article 13 (quoted below) is the following sentence:

I think there is room for improvement, especially I fear that algorithms run wild, because it is not even remotely possible to write bug-free software. "Those measures" should be open source and reviewed on a regular base by a group that does not only contain "rightholders".

Yeah, I would have to agree with this really. A friend of mine ran afoul of algorithms taking the piss on Soundcloud. Effectively the algorithm banned him for posting tunes on his own account because whatever algorithm they had concocted found his tunes elsewhere on the web and automatically assumed that it must be getting stolen. The difference in the publishing name was minimal, I think it was like "John Smith", as opposed to "John A Smith". That difference was enough to cause a lot of hassle, and he was banned from posting up his own music for months. Some qualification of "rightholders" is needed here, because the level of recognition is at least partially defined by how much legal muscle you can summon.

Notice: Algorithms are not ready to tackle the problem yet. Ask Youtube, Soundcloud, et al. Yet these platforms were used as perfect technological solutions for 'something that just work' in the future by the same people defending Article 13 in the first place. Don't be fooled.

Just as the core creativeness of its genesis, people who love the Internet should contribute openly. A love only using non proprietary and open source tools as a solution, so that anyone with the technical know-how can double check the codes.
The open source light is the best and only disinfectant for a long term and healthy Internet.

A 'solution' should never come from the closed, dark and sad hallways of the EUcrat's den; the anathema to an open democracy.

You do not own your words on a platform you did not create or maintain. They can do whatever they want with a . .

It falls under the copyright of the user. Website owners need to be very clear about what they can do with the user's content.

If an admin does not like my tone I accept it because I am a tourist visiting a kingdom. There is not much I can do about this, unless setting up my own [kingdom] forum.

US laws or EU laws? There is a split coming (article 13)
Copyrights do not negate the rights of a forum owner to delete anything written on their platform. Most people prefer the comfort of anonymity, or you could tell the admin who you really are... if you trust them enough to never stab you in the back 10 years from now.
Somebody said their choice of a quote got deleted, but they put it back in again. Nothing to do with copyrights as you do not own the rights of a "quote", but the admin can delete whatever they want on their forum, using whatever excuses or none at all
