Lately I find myself trying to find a different sound than I am currently creating. I am hearing complete songs, or ideas in tracks which are close to finish, only lacking the vocals and thinking "this is not a unique style, this is not me". Some of the stuff sounds better than ever before but somehow it doesn't feel like me. Maybe I am trying to impress the other side of me?

I am talking popsongs here. I believe they should be somewhere between catchy stuff but yet with all sorts of spicey elements in it. I don't want it to sound perfect, I want it to be a mixture of lo-fi and hifi.

I guess the only way to do it is kill my darlings. And try to work on stuff 'till it makes a click or something with my true self?

I must say I am very much devoted lately to write lyrics and get this off my chest. Work on it. It's an urge inside of me.

And sorry btw I will write in Dutch, not English. Probably a weird idea, our market is so small, but fuck it. If I need to starve, so be it.

Your darlings can only be alive in the memory of others. Good luck!
