The first time I've read about Betty and Barney Hill was in 1981. Beautiful couple. The parts not told was he kept his eyes closed most of the time, and Betty could not explain to them the concept of Time. They could not understand Barney's dentures. Betty tried to explain the concept of old age and the passing of time, but to no avail. She was frustrated she didn't have a much deeper knowledge of advance science.

Heheh, as a child I‘ve been taken as well, a few times actually. I could feel when they‘d land in the field in front of our house. Then I realized what sleep paralysis is and turned it into lucid dreaming - man those aliens never looked the same ;)

I never had to believe in paranormal activities, until I had to change my mind. I am just glad they were 8 other witnesses of all ages during the "event". :puf_bigsmile:
It is a good thing to think logically about what we don't understand, and accept the fact 99.9% of all events can be explained rationally.

The only REALLY spooky thing I ever experienced was this:
One night I woke up from my GF shaking me and telling me she needed a hug. Apparently she had a dream where she saw the cat of her parents and suddenly its face would break open and the brain would come out and it was so real to her that she was still very upset when she woke up. A week later we sit at her parents place and her sister comes in, tears all over her face, her husband with a very sad face behind her. He tells us that the cat came running out of the field, jumping at their car and they hit it very bad and it died. Then her sister starts stammering under tears telling us what happened and one sentence struck both me and my GF like a fist punch in the stomach: „Then I picked him up to see if he was alright and his whole head was squished, his brain came out.“

I know it sounds like an urban myth or something but I swear it happened exactly like that. I do have to add that the cat was new and so my GF thinking about that cat in general at exactly that time wouldn‘t have been too unusual.

I welcome you to our But-I-Swear-It-Happened-To-Me-And-I-Can't-Explain-It Club. We should feel "blessed" we witnessed a phenomenon few will ever face in their lifetime. I thought of saying "special" instead of "blessed" but these events are not rare, and millions of humans have been touched by the unknown.
"Blessed" because it is a way to check our ego in place, a "physical" reminder we are not in control, that we should not take what we have, life, for granted. At least that's how I've chosen to understand the phenomenon, as I have no way to explain any of this.

Well I‘ll join the „I could explain it but just as well let a bit of magic touch me“ club next door if you allow ;)

Agree on everything you said about not taking things for granted, it keeps you from getting bored with the world as it is and falling to fictions. Be it your own, political ones or conceptual ones. And yeah, no one knows what life is, never let anyone tell you that he has things figured out - he hasn‘t :)

Edit: Oooo and apparently I also join the 3000-posts-club with this post xD
