In a landscape where constant 'innovation' is required in order to keep the fuckheads entertained and the money rolling in for your tech company changes have to be made even if they are regressive and cause problems because the illusion of constant progress must be maintained at all costs. This way when the probelms are fixed everone will cheer and spend more money just because things work properly again.
Mh... While of course they sell way more generations and useless small updates than they should I don't think thats really the case here. But maybe if they would rather try to do BETTER than MORE and FASTER we might not have these issues.

What is disturbing is the fact that we almost base our whole society on this technology - some people already proclaim a new age or whatever. And now it turns out the people who build the base blocks for that new age are pretty sloppy and thoughtless doing it. I mean its almost like somebody saying "sorry guys, we found out that we can't use any of our power plants anymore". Imagine what that would mean.

Edit: Talking about the security patches for the latest CPU issues that you initially referenced here in case its not clear.

I don't use tapatalk but I'm going to follow Selig on this one and add a little tag on all my communications stating that it has been sent on a now shitty device.

So it goes...
I only have a few rules with technology:

First rule - never update to the current OS for critical work. Stay at least one version behind!

Second rule - never “follow” others when they are trying to be funny, especially selig…

I usually adhear to point one. This security screw up is an exception.

Rule two, I’m not following because you’re funny. I’m irritated. But I’m trying to be funny.

I’m still not updating (and at no serious risk by not doing so), and still failing at trying to be funny (if folks are taking my tag line seriously).

Thing is it[s really nice when you feel like your gear is your friend rather than just some old shit you have to wrench from a corporate jaw.
