No, task Manager is telling that you have 4 cores and 8 Logical quite clearly (I can see it clearly on that screen shot of yours).

Also you have Task manager set to "Overall Utilisation" , right click it and select "Change Graph To" then "Logical Processors"...

I think Task Manager just sums them altogether for a simplified view.

THANK YOU very mutch! id never of guessed to right click the performance graph seriously thought i was going mad, i suppose the eight graphs are 4 core with hyperthreading?

Correct, 4 cores with hyper-threading enabled = 8 Logical processors.
