7 days w/o reason help
nobody heard my cries of help or mercy 7 days ago, so I'll give it a try.
Obviously after 7 days of seeing the reason windows "zero times" I have some patience.
Can any pc geeks point me in the direction of a good system scanner?
I've unsuccessfully tried to restore 30 times, that's no exaggeration.
Am I pissed? Dam right I am when this happened 1 day after getting the last out of $500+ in redownloaded.
I Uninstalled reason, authorizer, deauthorized, downloaded, reinstalled, authorized.
I still can't open Reason.
I can open S1, Ableton.....
Finally have a morning to myself and I'm thru the roof.
Thanks in advance

You should contact support (if its a problem only with Reason ?)
If they don't help you complain about it on their public FB page (and twitter)

Did you try turning it off and on?
No kidding sorry, why don't you try to install Revo Uninstaller to get rid of all possible old Reason directories and then Re-install?

Did you ever get it up and running again?freeQlow wrote:nobody heard my cries of help or mercy 7 days ago, so I'll give it a try.

good luck
i still have not had a response for an issue i reported 3 weeks ago, luckily for me the developer updated their product the other day and it seemed to correct the problem i was having with the authorizer system (yep the good old authorizer system, never fails to kill your creative spark when trying to launch reason), so its a big thanks for nothing propellerhead, you sure know how to treat your loyal customers
hmm...that eerie silence...mreese80 wrote:Did you ever get it up and running again?freeQlow wrote:nobody heard my cries of help or mercy 7 days ago, so I'll give it a try.

why don't the prop's and devs contract reasontalk for first line support and give re's and stuff in return to the reasontalk hero on duty...
Did you delete the config file? That one doesen't get removed at unistall but if it's corrupt it won't allow reason to work. When it's deleted reason makes a new one on the 1st start.
I haven't opened reason windows in weeks.
Task Manager says it's running.
It let's me sign in.
I've restored points 10-20 times, went thru 39 windows 7 updates twice, spent well over $500 on racks during black Friday....
This sure has me burned and wanting to ditch Reason forever and stick with other DAW.
You bet I'm fucking livid.

Didn't work, but having to restore, update, restore,update....
It's been turned on & off 50-60 times and 3 moves.
Revo Uninstaller for Windows 7?

11 new updates and I noticed .NET Framework.....
This maybe good news!!!!!
Thumbs crossed

If I understand the problem correctly, your Reason installation somehow was corrupt?
Sometimes hardware problems can trigger programs to behave really weird if the error handling isn't perfect; and I wouldn't be surprised if Reason still have some error handling flaws.
Have you checked the Windows System events for any messages that for example indicates disk problems?

this has to be some attempt to get to update to windows 10, but it ain't FUCKING happening this lifetime
39 windows updates yesterday
11 windows updates tonight
Uninstalled 8, twice and reinstalled twice today.
It asks me to sign in, it acts like it's going to open but never does.
Sign in window goes away, reason never opens.
Task Manager says it's running.... but I can't end process or process tree.
Only thing I can do is turn computer on and off, Uninstaller install again and post duck fuck duck sauce over and over.

I went into a malign Windoze failed update loop couple weeks ago.
If that's the cause of you problems, then try to find the specific windows update that blocks it. Instaal the updates manually, a few ones at the time, until you find the problem one.
Install all other updates, and then the problem update last ,since it could be dependent in some of the other updates and the automatic install order was wrong.
Worked for me.

So you think I should try to go back further to restore first or just look thru installed updates?
unless I misunderstood something about the problem,it makes sense to investigate if there is a specific showstopper patch silently failing to install.freeQlow wrote:So you think I should try to go back further to restore first or just look thru installed updates?
perhaps we could try to solve it together through the reasontalk chat? just ping me during the day if you wish,I'll subscribe to this thread.
Jappe, I appreciate the offer to help.
I'm on the east coast, where are you located?
I will be out for a few, may crash at a friends house tonight...
