The Dark Side: Gothic, Industrial (Dance / Rock / Metal), Futurepop, Shoegaze, Post Punk... anybody out there?
I've mellowed quite a bit with age, but the noise bands of the 80's/90's got me through high school and art school. Good times. I had the pleasure of seeing Author & Punisher live a few months ago, and it was face melting awesome. He builds his own gear, software and instruments from the ground up. A regular one man band. They call it doom metal, but it sounds like regular ole fashioned real industrial to me.

+1 for Skinny Puppy with a honorable mention going out for VNV Nation (I actually lifted Ronan up in the air after a gig but that is another story...).
