Great album - now I can't stop listening also!

I was searching for some new music recently, but never have the chance to visit any record stores (where I would normally grab a pile and spend an afternoon scanning with headphones - those were the days). Of course, there's iTunes and Amazon etc., but your recommendations are very welcome, thanks.

Cheers :D

I have been listening to Trentemoller a lot lately. He's a Danish electronic/ambient/EDM artist and apparently was a studio engineer before becoming an artist himself. Hence the awesome sound and production techniques. I love how totally changes the mood of this song halfway through before coming back to the main theme.

And these guys from Iceland/Faroer Islands are equally amazing (and performing live!):

A friend turned me on to these guys this week. It's as if Chris Cornell was the singer for Pride and Glory rather than Zakk Wylde:

Discover.  Found some really good stuff too.  Kinda like going through the record racks in 1969.  Petula Clark, nope.  Lawrence Welk, nope.  Tom Jones, nope.  MC5, hmm, wonder who they are?

Also it's annoying that you have to scroll forever to see new posts and then when you get to the bottom and click on 'load more comments' it kicks you topside back to the first comment and there you are scrolling forever to the bottom again...
Also there's a huge box for share and whatever that takes up what little screen room there is so you don't really even see much of the comments at all. I try not to go here on my phone.
You can change to the desktop version through the top right menu button.

If you don't know it already, but my main resource for new, free and most of the time, great music is - http://www.xlr8r.com/

A lot of artists put free tracks out, say from an EP, as an appetizer. XLR8R is sort of a hub to find these tracks and uploads them to SoundCloud, with a link to their blog for the download.

Like this goodie..

And hydlide - I love Two Steps from Hell. Great production music. Thomas Bergersen is one of my favorite composers when it comes to this type of music.

Well - I've been off work, so I have had some time to dig through my CDs to find some I haven't listened to for a while.

Rediscovered some CDs by French bands Louise Attaque.....

and Noir Desir......

Yep, awesome! Entertaining series as well.

And if you want to LOL hard, watch the first episode (you probably won't get beyond that) of the (cancelled) series Crossbones. It's like Black Sails, but totally crappy :D

Marketblandings wrote:My post about this disappeared somewhere... So I will say again, that that is one of the most inspiring things I have heard in years! I am ga-ga. Is this typical music for Prefab Sprout?
I can't fully comment as I only have the album "Swoon", of which it is probably typical, however for me it was a standout track. Or rather the first that grabbed me fully (maybe its the most accessible). I love the lyrics and the musical changes, the drums, bass and that it gets better every time I listen. It's good music, that makes me want to make music  :)

Been on a big 80's kick lately, listening to keyboard sounds and how the songs were mixed. Especially the way the bass and keywords were mixed.

And soundtracks.
