I'm French-Canadian, and while my grandparents didn't speak English at all, ABBA was my grandfather's longtime favourite group.
One member of The Jets, a supposed all-Wolfgramm family band, was not part of their family. Eugene Joseph Wolfgramm's real name was Gene Hunt, but he used that Wolfgramm pseudonym to maintain the illusion that this was all just one big music family. (He's the red-haired kid in the lower right). I worked with his mother, Alofa Hunt, at Honeywell in the 80s, and both the Hunts and Wolfgramm families were from the island of Tonga, a U.S. territory, later moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and starting The Jets. Gene left after several albums to start Boys Club in Minneapolis. Kinda weird that I have such personal memories of him, as well as my having worked a temp job at Princes's Paisley Park, as I'm not at all well connected in the music biz, LOL! It is simply a small world!
I, uh, hate to be that guy but I'm pretty sure Tonga isn't a US territory, though part of Samoa is. Tonga is a monarchy - when I was a student i was friends with a Tongan woman I was astonished to find out was actually a princess. So, imagine the shock to my system when the very 1st triple-A video game I ever tried (and got running on my Mac M2 using CrossOver) was Cyberpunk 2077! The visuals, the soundtrack, and all the various radio songs of the day! My head was spinning for a solid month and hundreds of hours, as I got sucked in, barely able to believe what I was seeing and hearing!
