Not a perfect extremely long term solution yet if we still have 'gatekeepers' along the blockchain.
By "extreme" = 10000s of years or more as proof of ownership of digital goods.

I'm watching Binance Smart Chain aka BSC. The fees are minimal and the BNB coin has hit 3rd place in the top cryptos.
We'll see. It's still really early.

NFTs should exist above and beyond any type of exchanges, not attached to any other coins (ultimate state of NFT, one day).
If you compare with the cost of what exists today, is it more expensive or cheaper?
Of course you need to trust other humans to do the right thing with your paperwork.
Humans you will never know or meet.

Quick. All (type of) cartels around the world should switch to NFTs, instead of cash or oil, for trading their art business.
As far as I understand (I could be wrong) NFTs are not about trading. It is not a currency. It is a way to replace notary services, with the same value and weight across the world, with the accuracy and precision of an atomic clock built-in when the contract is created.
It does not mean it's a good solution for now, but for the very few people with an open mind, not always defending the banksters, it is a neat fun and open (for all to see) concept.
It will eventually grow, no matter what we think of it, because we are already too fossilized for this upcoming world anyway, myself included

Stamping your composition with a solid digital imprint for remuneration is essential to the creative process.
Block Chain might save the world from blood sucking middlemen.

How would this stamp out the middlemen? You'd still need to get on all the major platforms and all the other stuff.calebbrennan wrote: ↑17 Mar 2021Stamping your composition with a solid digital imprint for remuneration is essential to the creative process.

This is where we are going. Eventually some form of IPFS + NFT solution.

The 'middleman' used to sell candles, oil and wax from the whaling industry. He was a key part of something called "The Industrial Revolution".
Then Edison was a thing. Then whaling was evil.
We can't see the future because we are all in our own version of a whaling industry normality bubble right now. Our Edison hasn't happened yet.

I don't come to this forum much at all anymore. I switched to crypto trading last year and i have more money now than I ever have. Now I just sit play my drums everyday. anyhoo....
When i first heard about BTC back in 2014 or whenever... my first thought was what it might mean for us musicians. There was always the "real estate contracts" example so i thought "wow one day our music will be the file, the file will hold the info, you will freely use it anywhere and eventually artists will get money for all recognized use blah blah..."
Imagine making your loops or patches or music or art all day long: and posting everything, without a care for copyright or copycats, and eventually seeing money when things are used. NFT is the closest yet we have come to that future. Actually, it's probably more accurate to say that IFPS (interplanetary file system) is what allows us to move in this direction. The "NFT" part can come and go for all i care.
That Beeple guy didnt just sell $70,000,000 art piece overnight. That came from 14 years of honing his skills and creating every day. Some famous artists have died without seeing a penny, and today their pieces sell for millions. With these NFT you can declare that 5, 10, 50% of secondary sales go to YOU. This is good.

Many music artists jumping in to NFT, but i saw a rapper that basically said "you are buying the song AND the publishing rights". I guess that is "profit sharing" along with the ownership?.. IDK I just thought that was cool.
Anyway if you are the type to poke around and research:
-Audius (its mooning now. wish i couldve bought their coin when i found it but im in US!)
-EulerBeats
-Ujo
there are many more coming. change is good sometimes and music rights and earnings have needed change for a very long time.
In the future, all of the no-talent, blood-sucking, do-nothing middlemen, vampires and culture vultures can all go die in a grease fire!
*fingers crossed*
