The [UFO?] conundrum is fascinating.

Believers and non believers share some basic ideas:

The [phenomenon] is based on technology.
It must be coming from an advanced (and very, very old) civilization (or multiple civilizations).
The [civilization] is coming from outer space, but maybe within the Milking Way?
The [phenomenon's] goal is confusing, and beyond to what we describe as our everyday reality and purpose, good or evil.
The [phenomenon] does not care about privacy, telling the truth as we humans understand it, the respect of people's or animal's right not to be violated at will.
The [phenomenon] is voyeuristic, creates situations for humans to react, to self doubt, even eroding unity among witnesses sharing the same [experience]. Confusion.
The [phenomenon] could chose not to be visible to our eyes and our technology, if it is so advanced.

This is the tension I was alluding to in the OP. Because media fakery (a hypothesis I am more than willing to entertain) is also a conspiracy theory.

So you have the same people who would, say, never entertain notions that 9/11 or JFK was an inside job (never mind any UFO nonsense) who now need to reach for a conspiracy hypothesis to explain this new attitude to UFOs within elements of the mainstream media.

My point being, as per the OP, is that there is something going on here but we don't know what it is...

Well, media fakery is not a conspiracy theory, just another speculation. Who needs conspiracy when there's a whole media industry selling speculations. That no real proof has been found in 100 years puts it on the same level with superstitious beliefs.

Even if UFOs really existed, they seem to have no effect on us, let alone pose any threat to humankind. So at the least, the problem is overexaggerated and the interest is unfounded. If they the aliens should ever reveal themselves and address us, the time may come to pay attention and respond. Until that, why bother?

Who really knows what´s going on.

In terms of the cameras the videos were recorded through, those are not ment to focus on visually appealing images but are bascially target lock systems of jetfighters.
The videos were taken in such heights where usually there are no other visually better cameras around nor could the phenomena be seen or filmed from the ground because of that.If I remember correctly, it´s one of the reasons the congress is being asked to fund upgraded equipment for appropriate observations.

Sure, all this could be a hoax, then it also could be true. Like said, who knows.
It is actually an interesting development nonetheless because it´s different compared to the prior offical behaviour or sentiments in this regard.

Our camera tech has never been better. The low quality is a red flag to me.
