Re: Spitfire Audio - BBCSO Discover - $49 or FREE
The Pro version of BBCSO has a ton of microphones so you can have more control to dial in the exact sound you want. It's a lot pricier than "free" though.

Re: Your custom starting template
My default template has: Mastering chain with Selig Gain, RE-2A, Ozone 8 Advanced, and Tonal Balance Control. Eight combinators for send effects, set up by default with three reverbs, a 3/16+4/16 pingpong delay, a basic 3/16 delay, and some empty ones. Embertone Walker 1955 Steinway Lite piano, grea...

Re: Friktion vs Miroslav Gold
Miroslav was worth considering 20 years ago, not so much nowadays. I agree that BBCSO Core on sale is a good way to go if you're looking for a full orchestra. On sale it goes for I think $240 a few times per year (if you own Discover, which you can get for free by filling out a survey and waiting a ...

Neutron is great, and even the elements version has a great feature set. It’s my go-to EQ, and the visual compressor is very useful too.

Re: Tina Guo Acoustic Cello Bundle on sale
I own the Tina Guo vol. 1 cello, it's got a lot of feeling in the performance that makes it really nice for slow expressive melodic cello leads. It's a one-trick-pony for sure, but it's better at that one trick than anything else on the market.

Re: Question re: Native Instruments/Native Access/Kontakt and automation
Kontakt can be a bit fiddly with automation, but you can do it. Pop open the full large-window view (with the browser on the left and whatnot) and then look for the Automation tab above Kontakt's browser. Go to the Host Automation page. There should be a list there of which host automation parameter...

Re: The new GUI could be a make-or-break chance for Reason
Honestly I'd prefer a more consistently skeuomorphic look and feel in Reason's newer devices, too, though the Homer and the general tone of this thread are really exaggerating the issue IMO.

Re: Reason and BBCSO Core
I wasn't aware that you were using R9.5. My bad. R9.5 is the first iteration of VST Support in Reason. A lot of bugs were solved in R10, and R10.4 introduced improved performance. If you're using SSO with R9.5, you're really on odd waters because it didn't even exist and any issues that might be fo...

Re: So what are your thoughts on Grouping / Stacking
Being able to put tracks into groups or folders would be great, and has been much-requested around here. Extending it to the rack is also an interesting idea and might be helpful for keeping things organized there. Being able to save and recall groups of tracks at once has also been a feature I've b...

Re: zampled euphonic strings
It's a scam, same as Softphonics was. Euphonic Strings is an autosampler rip of something else, and their website (when it still existed) was full of stock photos instead of any actual pictures or real info about the sessions, performers, or engineers. Besides the legitimacy issues, the samples are ...

Completely different. Stringwerk doesn't do solo instruments, and you're not going to get a convincing ensemble out of Friktion.

But Ernst made you work hard back then and it really paid off for many of you. I'm pretty sure the goal was always to make it easy and enjoyable, otherwise why? Re: 20 Years of Reason: Goodie Bag
All REs since day one have had hi-res GUIs already made and ready-to-go, Reason Studios just has to recompile them to use the hi-res assets.Boombastix wrote: ↑18 Nov 2020How is hi res handled for all the 3rd party REs?
Is it up to developers to redo graphics or what will happen? Pretty big issue isn't it?

Re: Scalable devices idéa...
Would be nice if it was possible with a button open a reason device in a window like a vst and there you can scale it it what size you want. No, it wouldn't. Actually the OPPOSITE would - "forcing" VSTs to display their GUI in the Rack with all the other native & RE devices, with all the ins & outs...
