Re: Deal of the Week
Looks like patience worked in my favor. Currently demoing Super Audio Cart and nearly used my reward discount on it this past weekend. Now I can get it for the same price while retaining my reward. I'm sure I would have been salty if I had used my voucher only to see this pop up a couple days later.

Re: Do you really use the SSL mixer like this (video)?
When I first bought Reason I saw this video and quickly learned that his use of the gain knobs were not the way to go when adjusting levels. My mixes were falling apart and the channel strip comps would be out of wack. Simple trial and error had me wondering if I was doing something wrong or the vid...

Re: What are your fav RE EQ and why!!
The SSL EQ is my go-to because it's convenient and gets the job done. I'm not particularly thrilled with it for any little boosts in the high end. When I want a little added character with my EQ I reach for any of the Kuassa EQs. I have the GQ-7 from the mixing/master rig. I mostly use that for filt...

Re: (Folk rock jazz, elements of) Class Debate
Vocals aren't my cup of tea but I like the music a lot. This must have been quite the process if guitar was your lead without tempo. I tried doing the same on an acoustic piece I started working on a few months back. Once I went to add drums I realized it just wouldn't work and had to scrap the enti...

Very nice work! I've been out of the club life for a few years now but this is something I'd like hearing to get a room moving.

Re: (Melodic Rock) New EP by Are We Ghosts
I only listened to the first track ("not enough hours in the day" to quote you!). I much preferred the 'melodic' to the 'rock' - it sounds more creative/original to me, but maybe I'm just not a heavy rocker. It sounds fine to me production-wise, apart from the heavy guitar sounding a bit too upfron...

Re: (Ambient) The Call - AmbientOnline Compilation Vol.9 Pt.2
Very nice work. It's probably because I'm listening on a laptop at the moment but the pad sounded a little too metallic. Other than that, I really like the overall vibe and progression of this. Interested in hearing more.

Re: (Melodic Rock) New EP by Are We Ghosts
"Moment Makers" in the beginning reminded me of the band "Doves" and "Blinker the Star". "Harbouring Suspicions" has a John Feldmann production vibe to it. You guys play well. Do you play live in New Jersey? Never heard of either of those bands but was curious to check them out. I can hear the Blin...

Re: (Melodic Rock) New EP by Are We Ghosts
So I had a listen to this and I have to admit that it isn't really my cup of tea in terms of music style. In terms of mix/engineering it sounds great, a cohesive whole that would not sound out of place on some rock radio show. IMHO it does lack something that would make it stand out from other simi...

Re: (5/8 Electronic) - Darkness
I enjoyed this one a lot. It's also pretty cool to see what your source of inspiration for the track was. The last time I played Doom was Doom 64. After hearing the song and seeing the video, I kind of want to pick up one of the current games even though I probably shouldn't.

(Melodic Rock) New EP by Are We Ghosts
I'm proud to present an EP I've been working on with my friend for about a year now. All songs have been recorded and produced within Reason. These five songs have been recorded, mixed and mastered at different points throughout the year so there's some variation in mixes after the 1st two tracks. I...

Can anyone pull up the new additions? I get "404 - Page Not Found" on nearly all of the newly added ones when trying to view them. I can view them fine from the shop but not when clicking on them within the Reward section.

Re: Bass Lines (Calling All Bass Players)
I'm primarily a guitarist but write a lot alongside a bassist/vocalist. You're off to a great start with the song. One thing I'd change is similar to what brand said above, "space and attention to note duration". The staccato bass throughout the entire track is a little much. I'd limit it to the tra...

Re: [Rock/Metal] Crashing Waves
Pretty cool to see a fellow guitarist on the board. Really nice job on the mix. I like how everything is nice and clear without any of the instruments sounding overly separated or out of place. I've never come across that pedal company before, so I'm curious to look into them now. Don't kick yoursel...

Re: How much have you spent on REs, refills and upgrades this year?
RE: $508 Refill: Hard to compute since I didn't buy any through the Prop Shop in the past 365 days. Bought them directly off the sound designers websites. Upgrades: $0 All purchases were during sales so I made out really well. This all puts time and money into perspective. Going to do my best to cut...

Re: Waves V10 Is Out - A Public Service Announcement
Slightly off topic question... Is there anything special going on in the various mono version plugins that can't be achieved outside of the plugin? And why not just a switch vs. a separate plugin? I have mono-to-mono versions, mono-to-stereo versions, stereo versions, lite versions, version 2's, et...

Re: Abbey Road Studios IR's?
Finally had a chance to demo Chambers. About the same CPU hit as the Plates Reverb. I was taken back by the amount of presets since Plates has a small sample set. The sounds are really nice even though I still have to say I like Plates more than Chambers. The Steed section is a nice touch. If I didn...

Re: Abbey Road Studios IR's?
It's actually not too bad on CPU. The DSP meter shows two bars being used on my MacBook Air. I'd be using it as a send effect, so wouldn't have many instances of it. I'll have to give is a good listen when I get home. At work now and just toying around with it during a break. [EDIT] Ok got home and...

Re: Abbey Road Studios IR's?
I'd recommend trialing, if you aren't/haven't already. I have the Abbey Road Plate Reverb by Waves. Sounds great but is very CPU hungry. I haven't tried Chambers yet but I'd imagine it's a hog, if not more, than the plate reverb. Yup I'm getting ready to trial it now  I'll be interested ...

It's a shame my credit card company doesn't have a forum I could complain on for giving me cash back with each purchase, too. You can send them a email, call them or wait for next survey. Re: Should Propellerheads turn Reason into a AU/VST and focus solely on content rather than being a DAW?
I'm only one person but I'd surely abandon ship if they went this route. Maybe I'm the oddball out but when I was test driving DAWs I was sold on the SSL and Sequencer combo. The added synths, effects and utilities were added perks. Sure, the sequencer has room for improvement but I still preferred ...
