To Ozone or no to Ozone?

I tried it when it first came out...  Admittedly I didn't try it it thoroughly as that was during the "OMG Rack Extensions!  Try them all!" period for me lol.  And I was on vacation for two weeks during that time.    Yeah this bugs me about the shop just now. I reckon the trials should reset every ...

To Ozone or no to Ozone?

Don't know of a better maximizer anywhere in musictechdom, and so easy to use! I've used the Waves stuff too in my time. Would love to see more of Izotope's stuff ported over, specifically the rest of the Ozone suite, however it is less needed than the Maximizer was. A crucial buy for any Reason user.

Newtrol 8 is approved and will be in the shop coming week

This looks like a cool device. If I may be so bold, how about doing a patch building competition with it, where people can show the amount of stuff it can really do - I personally see a lot of potential. Say the best 5 entries get a free license (or best 3 or best 10, that's your choice :) ) If you...

Softtube changed the game for me!

Softube did make a LA-2A emulation but it's only available as a VST in Native Instruments Vintage Compressors. They also dud an emulation of a DBX160. I can't wait till I can pick that collection up. Indeed, although my understanding was that the VC-2A was a joint venture between Softube and NI. Ob...

FAWM 2015

Since the FAWM site seems to be in low-info mode, perhaps you could fill in some details. But as I understand it, FAWM is for writing an album, primarily, while RPM is intent on recording an album. (If I'm wrong about that, let me know.) As I mentioned in the other thread, some RPM folks write thei...

FAWM 2015

I see there is another site/initiative with pretty much exactly the same goal. Might be worth checking out if there is a preference amongst those in here as to which site to go to, or if either offers any distinct advantage. This is the link to Platzangst's post: http://www.reasontalk.com/post/rpm-...

FAWM 2015

I'm not sure whether I could add anything in a collaboration - most people on here seem to be far ahead of me in musicianship and production skills - but under FAWM conditions, who knows ... Don't worry dude, I'm so bad as a songwriter, that as a producer I've become a master of turd-polishing :) T...

Softtube changed the game for me!

With the original introduction of TSAR-1, FET and Trident, Softube immediately addressed 3 of Reasons biggest problem areas. In particular with TSAR-1 which I find extremely easy to work with compared to the RV-7000, if I'm just looking for a nice sounding reverb. The 7000 has a lot more features fo...

Should point out that you don't need to be affiliated with FAWM or even registered, it's just that I might go looking for other collaborators there - this is a good time of years for this kind of shenanigan :)

FAWM 2015

Hi folks, http://fawm.org/ with regard to the above project, I'm hoping to do the writing stage of a new album during February - but only the writing stage. Due to University commitments, everything from sound selection through to mixing, engineering and mastering will be done some time later. I'm i...

Five Things Every Audio Pro Should Know

I'm going to take a wild guess and say over 75% of members here wouldn't know how to use a soldering iron. Although I can use a soldering iron, I wouldn't have known any of the stuff in the first post, although I do care for my guitar cables by being very gentle with them. I think it's a modern thi...

A resurrection for a new day!

Hey folks, It's been a long while since I retired this handle in favour of my more "grown up" guise on the PUF. I felt it appropriate to return to Lowlifebware as this is what most people will recognise, particularly if someone returns from hiatus. So anyway, for those who don't know me, I'm a Glasw...
