Re: Blamsoft and eXode present: eXpanse - Hyperwave Synthesizer
Yes. We have OpenCL - is it possible to use this with a DAW? It'd be dead handy if my Quadro GPU could get to work helping with the heavy lifting of soft synths.

I'm not in a position to try this out at the moment. How do you all think it fares when it comes to making analogue synth sounds? I'm looking for a reason to not buy Diva.

If you mean the Trident A-Range, it's not included in the M&M Rig.dana wrote: I would buy the mixing and mastering rig, this is included with a load of other useful plugins.. if you can afford it.

Re: Performance drop with Reason 9
I have wondered if it's possible for DAWs to use GPUs via OpenCL etc. I've got a Dell workstation with a good professional GPU, and I'd love it if Reason could make use of it.

Re: Reason 8 With Izotope Ozone 7 Advanced Stand Alone Or Pro Tools?
I'd add that PT, which seems focused on recording and working with real audio/bands/singers/instrumentalists, strikes me as a strange standard for scoring. You'd think it would be Cubase or something. I would hate the injustice of having a DAW foisted on me as a "standard" when there are other thing...

Re: Reason 8 With Izotope Ozone 7 Advanced Stand Alone Or Pro Tools?
I would suggest that IF you're going to have to do the dirty Pro Tools thing sooner or later for political reasons, you might as well get it out the way. It can sit there on your computer being a necessary evil, and you can get fluent in it, certified etc. That's a lot of money though - is that the ...

De-synchronize option for Synchronous.
What I mean is, the option to decouple Synchronous' speed from the tempo. I'd love to be able to use Synchronous to draw long complex envelopes for evolving pads, etc. But I'm limited, at the slowest, to 1 envelope per 2 bars. I'd love to see options for 1/4, 1/8, maybe 1/16 speed or, even better, a...

Re: Will you upgrade to Reason 9?
One thing I've come to understand from peering in at the various forums (fora?) of different DAWs is: every one of them has users saying "When oh when will they finally implement/sort out X feature? It's 2016 and the other DAWs have it and it's pretty basic." So, y'know. There's no perfect DAW. You ...

Re: Will you upgrade to Reason 9?
Cash-for-features would be a list of requested features, each with an R&D cost as decided by PH, and then everyone pledges for their most-wanted feature and then when the threshold is reached, Kick-starter-style, BOOM we've got big-tall waveforms or foldable channel-groups or a 2016 HD-compatible GU...

Re: Will you upgrade to Reason 9?
I will be upgrading - but unless they chuck in a cracking RE or two for early adopters, I'll be waiting for a sale. As others have said, I WANT to support PH - maybe the reason (ha!) they're so slow to generally update this software and its GUI is lack of resources/money? Maybe they could implement ...

Broadly then, the Players are getting two kinds of whine - "I learned to play chords with one or both of my hands! Now anyone can play chords! Playing chords was my professional/artistic edge!" And "My music has no use for chords (or if it does, I can already play them with one or both of my hands b...

Speaker tool!
Playing about with the R9 beta, and dutifully recording some of my awful singing to really put the Pitch Edit feature through its paces, I discovered the Speaker Tool! Only available in pitch/slice/comp edit modes, I immediately went to see if this feature was in Reason 8 all along. And it is! ...if...

I officially own every Primal Audio RE now. I know it's too late for the sale, but those filters are well worth grabbing - especially PMS-20 which you can use all over the place on everything for saturation, distortion, and sound shaping. And we all know that FM4 is great.

Re: Mastering the Master Compressor
Hello all! First post here, but I've done plenty of lurking. Sorry to dig up an old thread. Here's the question that roused me to register - maybe it's one that other people reading this thread are asking. I assume that ideally, maximizers would be LAST in the chain, AFTER the master bus compressor ...
