Re: Is there a 2023 Roadmap?

I really love 12. The combinator and Mimic are totally worth it. I am also loving using my vst3s without bluecat. Mimic would be nice to have. But that's pretty much the only thing in R12 I truly care about. I did plan on upgrading back when the R12 upgrade was first released, but since it was ridd...

No certainly not, RS had fully purchased the rights. In such a situation, there is a clause of handing over the source code. Basically company A buy company B product with a maintenance clause. If company B decide to stop or bankrupt or anything, they have to handover the source code product owners...

I never liked their bass amp RE.
Agreed. Cerberus rules :puf_wink:
So much agree. On paper, it seems a perfect companion for a bass emulation in friktion. In reality it never sounds right despite the magic of friktion to emulate a bass.

For me:
Kong: was a kind of game changer in rhythmic possibilities.
Dr rex: still a top tool to manipulate loops.
RRP: when Reason allowed us to embrace the best of all worlds.
Friktion: !!! A unique tool above all.
Record: this ssl emulation !

I’m shocked no love for VK-2, Obsession, Algoritm or Malström.
Yes I agree.
Obsession is still my favourite goto analog synth...
Algoritm is clearly on my top 5 RE.

VK2 and Maelstrom are not my cup of tea but I know they are indeed very popular.

Re: How to create a feedback loop in Reason (Noob Question)

Ah, you want to do sourceless/"no input" effects. This is one area where analog has a huge (light speed actually) advantage over digital. For something to feedback in the digital world you need AT LEAST one sample of delay because you can't feed something back until after it happens. So the first s...

This (mini) debate reminds me of a fun philosophical paradox: Professor: "Is this a question? " Student: "it is if this is an answer." Professor: "full marks for you". Don't know if the story is true but it is cited by Dave Snowden, father of complexity management... Anyway, I have no objection to s...

Re: Your 3 best soft synths in 2023.

Interesting that nobody has voted for the RRP. ;) There were some arguments about the RRP being a synth (for the record I 100% agree that the RRP is a "also" a synth). The problem is that if we accept the RRP in the category, those using Reason as a DAW can't really vote :-). But for sure, if we co...

So I resisted about 15 min before downloading it. The UI and generally the workflow of this synth is very very impressive. I guess for a new user with no Diva, Spire, Dune or any other analogical power house, it does make sense. For the others, I don't really see a differentiating factor, a part fro...

Re: What's Your (Reason Specific) Goto Limiter?

Ozone in my opinion, is the cleanest "neutral" sounding maximizer. If you have a bunk sounding mix, it certainly won't help you conceal that.. trust me, I know all about making bunk mixes frfr. Ha ha, I don't know what bunk sounding mix, I am not native English speaker, but if there is a maximizer ...

Re: What's Your (Reason Specific) Goto Limiter?

Is ozone 10 out of scope? It is accessible in vst3 so can be used in Reason. It is an excellent mastering limiter supporting many algorithms and autodetect lufs level. There is also a softcliper. Totally overkill if it is just peak limiting a channel though.
