Re: Hyperthreading Support
Honestly, I have no idea what you're talking about, re: HT and i5's vs i7's. I'm glad Reason is supporting VST's. I had been sitting here contemplating going DAW-less and moving back to hardware sequencing and recording like I had in the 90's, or learning a new DAW (Cubase is a mess and I really did...

Re: Routing Send FX to a Mix Channel
The downside to using the mix channel for send returns is that it's no longer solo safe. Bump. Has this changed at all since the OP? IIRC, there weren't direct outs and parallel outs when I last regularly used Reason, back when 6.5.3 was current (I did upgrade to 8, but didn't use it much because o...

Re: Anyone using Cthulhu In reason
VST's in Reason can't transmit MIDI (yet), so Cthtulu and LFO Tool won't work as expected in transmitting MIDI and/or MIDI CC's.

Same question, different time. I'd like to use LFO Tool.

Re: GRID64G by Retouch control!
Just picked this up, and am looking at an original Launchpad to use with this. Will that work, or do I need a newer one? So far, I am absolutely LOVING this thing, even sans any external control. One of my biggest gripes with doing drums in Reason was that Redrum was limited to hi/mid/low velocity a...

Argh! Had it in my cart easier today, and decided to do the trial, which took it out of my cart... and now it's gone...
That said, yeah... it did seem to be a CPU hog, but it sounded damn nice. Hope it goes back on sale again for Black Friday!

Re: Please re vote! Last time you purchased an RE? Will you still support REs?
I just bought the Silent Way Voice Controller as a way to support the developer for all his hard work. It turned out to be a blessing, as the VST version of the Voice Controller couldn't do something that the RE could (accept a Redrum gate and route/convert it to an audio channel). I'm perusing the ...

Re: Combinator 2 :)
Multichannel combinator outputs. Why just stereo? Why not have an 8 channel output?
A notepad would be VERY handy, to remember what is what in the Combinator. It would also be beneficial for sharing Combinator patches with others.

Re: Any Boutique users in the house?
Is anyone using a TB-03 with Reason 8? I'm trying to figure out how to get the TB-03 audio into Reason while sending MIDI clock out to sync the 03 to Reason. Is this even possible ALL over USB?

What do you mean by "multiple Rex renders"? What does that do?gak wrote:For some reason (no pun intended, I thought recycle would allow multiple rex renders (I mean, what's the point if you can't do that?) but reason 8.x can?
I'm confused now.

Madison is good, but I left the nightlife scene a number of years ago. I still make beats when the kids are occupied, but it's often slow going on the "getting tracks done" front.

It makes any "decision" easier when someone said they'd gift me a copy of ReCycle 2.1 today. I guess I can still afford to pick up Reason 8 AND still get to use ReCycle.

ReCycle 2.2 vs loop editing capabilities inside Reason 8?
Hmm... I'm a tweaker, so I'd probably get enough use out of ReCycle to make it worthwhile to own. I was hoping there's be enough functionality in Reason that it'd be like getting 2-for-1, but it sounds like it might not be.

ReCycle 2.2 vs loop editing capabilities inside Reason 8?
What about exporting REX files to use outside of Reason? Namely, some of the factory loops? Is it possible to load, edit, and then export a REX file in the Factory Sound Banks? It sounds like I'd be better off spending the $110 on the Reason upgrade than $60 for a second hand copy of ReCycle, at lea...

Possible to upgrade from 6.5.3 to 8.1 (to remain 32 bit)?
Edit: cubase do have it's own Bridge for 32bit Plugins ;) It's completely wonky though! I decided to bite the bullet and switch over to using Cubase and Reason in 64-bit mode, as ABL is going to force me to do without the capabilities found in 32-bit ABL2 (well, at least not without having to do so...

ReCycle 2.2 vs loop editing capabilities inside Reason 8?
For someone who's been into making beats for 20 years, I'm way late into the game of beat/loop editing and have been searching for ReCycle 2.2 lately. I have wanted to create/edit some REX loops to use inside Xfer's Nerve as a playback source, instead of using Reason, as I wanted to keep everything ...

I'll likely be buying that, despite owning both the ABL2 RE and VST. That'll be a nice way to sequence other racks via the 303 sequencer. I'd definitely try and contact the developer and ask if they see any chance for a crossgrade offer. Some (like Rob Papen) are known to be very generous there. Ed...

I'm not 100% sure, but it sounds like it's the operating system that needs to be 32-bit, not the host environment. It sounds like their way of saying Win XP is no longer supported.

Only PH themselves can give you a statement on that. Could be that you still get access to the last 32bit build of Reason 8 if you buy it. (The download is easy to find on the site.) I'm still on 6.5.3 and want to upgrade, but I'm still using 32 bit mode for an important plugin that changed how it works in 64 bit mode. Is like to upgrade to 8.x, but I've heard that 8.2 or 8.3 is 64 bit only now.
