Re: How Much C++ D'you Need to Know to Make An Re?

To answer generally, it's like saying how much language do you need to know to write a book. You can write a book that's unreadable with little to no language understanding, and one that's readable with a little more. But to write a truly great book you will need a LOT! I feel one could also make t...

Re: POLL: How much did you spend on VST/RE/Reason this Black Friday Week/Weekend 2017??

Gotta say that Xmas eve / morning feeling as a five year old returns with music tech as an ‘adult’ on Black Friday, except this time you get to buy, rip apart, and play with your new toys all night, lol. Love it, I wouldn’t even go have a thanksgiving beer w my mates I was having so much fun. Forgiv...

Re: Looking into Exhale and Vocalise.....

There’s also evoxa for some more processed sample vox stuff at $30 it’s worth a look. As I understand you can load your own samples into anything kontakt, thus into exhale and vocalise, you just have to go up the signal chain of the kontakt engine if you will. Someone even got shamed for not knowing...

Re: Who is your favourite Reasontalk poster?

The better question you refer to is a negative vibe man. There are no losers here. Only participants. Yes yes, of course that would be a negative vibe. I was making a statement in a light-hearted joking manner. The real point being that a ton of folks seem to fill roles nicely and effortlessly, mak...

I think there's a panopoly of posters and most are great. Some ask great questions, some great answers, some just great or innovative tunes. JFRichards, Tritone and AlexCVX to name just a few start great stuff inspiring amongst other things. Loque, Enoch and others always feeding curiousity into eve...

Re: 12 year old prodigy Alma Deutscher picks 4 notes from a hat and improvises a piano sonata

That was dope, except it was so monotonously chamber musiceqsue-Bach-like. This is a bit like writing in a pentatonic scale if I'm not mistaken, this one just of course with four notes. I'm with you tho Mook, this is another iteration of an awesome song / sound challenge that could inspire a new ang...

Oeksound Soothe

Bump. Just got an email from Oeksound official list that Soothe is gonna be on sale for $99 later this month and then they're going to release a new product, Spiff, before going back to improve Soothe. Sounds good to me I'm excited to try them out. Oeksound is a Finnish company so I hope they can wo...

Re: KIKBAK-like mini sound processing challenge, ...

I'm interested in this a bit since I need to work on my full understanding of drums. Do you mean get one of the KIKBAK refills and have a go with stated 808 / ac to aggressive drums? Well, what I'm doing right now is working with the FSB drums and creating processing chains so that I can eventually...

Honestly, I rec never updating your OS unless there is some major known security fix or feature that you must have. There's security risk in updating it too. Most of all for us music software folks incompatibility issues are near certain. Not saying you did, it coulda been new hardware with new OS. ...

Re: Klang, Pangea, Humana - Anyone using them?

I like the thought of them in theory but they fall short of adding a ton of excitement in practice. Mostly in that it lets the mind think of a category of sound and load up a single device w appropriate controls n Reasonesque knobs to do so. Yet, they if they were going to make this good wed be able...

Idk it doens't get much better than eXpanse / Legend / Vk-2. Been waiting for a Legend sale for awhile so I just picked up even tho I don't need more synths, such a fun one.
