Re: Switching Bassline patterns

If you have R12 you can take advantage of a new Combinator 2 feature.
Put the player into an combinator and assign Key -> "Pattern Select" of BLG player in the combinator programmer. Done.

Re: Drum Sequencer Remote Override missing Mute 1 to 4???

You can duplicate your remote control surface in Reason Preferences dialog (just add it a second time and give it a different name). It is totally possible to have copies of the same control surface. I do this all the time if a control surface should be shared to more than one device at the same tim...

Re: Drum Sequencer Remote Override missing Mute 1 to 4???

You´d have to edit the remotemap file of the remote codec of your MIDI controller (if it is shipped) with Reason and add a scope for the Drum Sequencer with mappings. See https://forum.reasontalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7514631&hilit=C%3A%5CProgram+Files%5CPropellerhead%5CReason+12%5CRemote where th...

Re: Drum Sequencer Remote Override missing Mute 1 to 4???

They are definitely remotable as the Export Remote Info shows but in Remote Override Edit Mode they are not visible. In this mode custom displays that are used in Rack Extensions have sometimes an unfortunate behaviour showing up the arrows of remotable items, possibly the arrows are outside of the ...

Re: Let 1 Controller knob change 2 knobs in reasons

Yes, it can. In the remote codec you define remote items which can be mapped to controls on devices in Reason or Reason document. In the remote_process_midi() callback you intercept the incoming MIDI message from your controller and call remote.handle_input() for whatever remote item you want. The ...

Slightly off topic: can one midi hardware knob able to directly control multiple destinations and multiple devices in Reason, some with negative values, others not, etc...? https://i.imgur.com/V3RO7QB.jpg Yes, it can. Re: hardware interface scope & remote info file

While looking at the surface locking tab in options, I noted their is an option to lock a control surface to the hardware interface but even when it has midi focus, the export remote info is disabled. You can not create a sequencer track for the hardware interface, so surface locking seems to be th...

Re: Chord SQ from Retouch

i think there is an "optimise chords" menu item that does something similar to this (minimize leap) but i am unable to confirm right now I saw that too and had a look in the manual. It seems it should do what I want but when I apply it it just does nothing. If progression is Cmaj - Emin7 - Amin - F...

Re: Chord SQ from Retouch

One feature I would like to see with this player is a "Minimize Leap" as it is called in in Captain Chords (inversion setting) that is applied the whole chord progression. So starting with the first chord the inversions of all following chords are adapted automatically to the nearest chord notes of ...

If you manage to figure out the cause of the problem and the fix, could you share it here or in the RE SDK forum? There are other players that seem to have the same bug. Well, I'm pretty sure that I have found and fixed the problem now! However, I don't know when the fix will be released since we'r...

Hoping someone with more experience than I building crazy routing monsters can chime in here. For example if i was to run my fingers up the ...

Re: Controlling Mixer Section with MIDI Control Surface

Follow up question here: I've been messing around with some of the Remote maps. I've made basic changes and save the files, but the changes don't have any effect on the way the controls work. As an easy experiment, I switched the pan and level settings on a set of knobs on my controller in the Remo...

Re: Mimic as sample "repository"

It's great that it's working for you but it seems a bit odd to me to join loads of individual samples together just so Mimic can split them up again. But if you prefer that way then carry on. There are no rules. Incidentally the Rex format is lossless so there should be no sound degradati...

Re: Mimic as sample "repository"

I achieved a similar thing but using NN19 (NN19 has more assignable controls than NNXT and can house more samples), as well as CV controlling the note input - essentially creating a sample select rotary. All using stock/built in instruments. Link: 16 Step Sample Sequencer The NN19 method is little ...

Mimic as sample "repository"

I mostly use Reason´s samplers for drum/percussion samples and when Mimic came out I thought, well, nothing special, just another sampler. On last weekend I realized that I could use Mimic as quick look up samples category repository ready for use and immediate control. So instead of storing a colle...

Re: Reverse Effect RE Request

Ah, sorry, I think I was not clear enough with my post. I meant sampler devices where you can load user samples and you can remote map the reverse button. There are sampler devices like NNXT, Kong and the Umpfes where reversing the sample is possible but it is not remote mappable. But I have to che...

R12 Mix Channel Remote Item Mapping to Combinator 2

I would really like to understand RS´ reasoning behind restricting the remote mappings on a Mix Channel to just the first 4 rotaries and 4 buttons of Combinator 2. I am genuinly interested. If you have a MIDI controller that is appropriate for mapping to Reason´s main mixer that has quite some knobs...

Re: Build a new hardware setup for making music - no display anymore

OK, makes sense, but youre not working with the mouse and keyboard anymore, aren't you? Its a bit other feeling than sitting in front of a classic DAW? True, turning more than one knob at once is cool. And it´s more immediate when changing sound parameters. Entering notes or chords in step mode is ...

Re: Build a new hardware setup for making music - no display anymore

Hi all, because of my job and projects I am very often in front of the computer-displays ... I´m in the same situation. Sitting in front of a computer all day at my job makes it quite exhausting working with a DAW in my spare time. To try something different I bought a Digitone (my first hardware s...
