Saying MP3 is dead is like saying DVD or even blu-ray (1080p) is dead. Just because there are newer/better formats does not defeat the standard format. As of now I have little interest in the VST format. REs are where it's at for me. Perhaps if I become more than a hobbyist producer I will discover what VST could provide that REs can't (my guess is not much).
