NI libraries have always been stellar.
All I would say is that the lack of libraries on reason gives room for you forum users to chime in and make a little earner

Reaktor like Rack extension designer
As the title says, a graphical rack extension for the code averse.
Technically it's possible for any developer to create this technology. Uhe has something like this for their plugins.

PUF is closing on the same day NAMM 2015 Starts!?!
Maybe they are going to announce something that sucks and it would have had the forum up in arms again and they decided to kick it just before the sh*tstorm. Actually I think maybe it will be really boring and they will just announce that Reason 8 share thingy that we already know about. The PUF wo...

RE delay compensation
As I see it, there are two different kinds of latency compensation situations: 1. General track timing related latency, e.g. vocals that are a bit off due to the large latency of processing like Neptune/Polar. In these cases, shifting the track by ear in the sequencer or with Regroove will do. 2. P...

Exciting news, RE's can now be as heavily optimised as vst and use streaming simd instructions
Do that many developers really write their DSP routines to use 64-bit math? That's incredibly wasteful, even without Uhe's saying so, all the audio handling code I write has used 32-bit floats, instead of needlessly promoting it to 64-bit. Also SSE2 and later can do vector processing on double prec...

There are a deluge of open sourced vectorised algorithms that can benefit from this.

Exciting news, RE's can now be as heavily optimised as vst and use streaming simd instructions
Great news! Hopefully this will mean some activity from U-he and friends again. Well he had many requests, including access to static data. Adding access to static data has a problem in that it puts limitations on the Rack Extension system as a whole. So you never know, there may be a bit of a sta...

Mattias is starting to talk about the PUF closing
hmm. I don't think I'm being a conspiracy theorist here. I think it's perfectly justified to question whether R8 is indeed the best and most profitable release they've had, especially when all we have to go on is the word of the company itself. If Bill Gates said that Microsoft Windows 8 is the bes...

As for R8 sales, they can claim anything they want. I'll just point to a common statement I've seen certain members of the Props post here and there in social media circles: "Show me, or it didn't happen." Thing is, no matter what they say, to the overly sceptical, they'll always continue raising q...

Forum FS: install the Wordpress plugin for user blogs
I think it would be great if we could make use of the Wordpress plugin for this forum (assuming it doesn't cost extra money).
Our users have a great deal of knowledge and skills to share and having a blog would give people a platform to express their findings, etc.

And to be real specific Nicola all you have to do is "create" a company. This is in name only to start. If you want to actually sell a product well then you have to have tax ID and all that other stuff associated with selling stuff within your local laws. But it is not mandatory just to get star...

I would just say to all 3d designers sign up so that you can get the tools to test your models, especially if you're using something like Blender
Well in any case, good luck on your endeavours.

Shiiiit. I'm just listening to some old music I made in like 2003. I'm surprised as it's not as bad as I remember.
Here's one of my first. http://phead.mu/s/Wivw0aQf

I'd say play by ear. Everyone's experience was different as some of us had never composed, others may have had years of experience composing, so maybe your first "project" was uber crud

Well the forum allowed: 1. BitleyTM to give an account that showed Ernst in a very bad light 2. RE developers to batch about the SDK and also reveal details that violated the NDA I think the forum was pretty free providing you didn't do anything destructive and overly immature really. I've never see...

Just FYI, you can get unlimited free storage *forever at github.com. The servers are uber fast.
You only need to make use of one of their git programs (such as sourcetree or github) to upload. You can also use it to host a website!
*: relatively speaking!

"It's Never Going to Happen"
Backwards compatibility was not Propellerhead's choice. They were foolish in the agreement made with Line6 that allowed them to be able to pull out. I asked Propellerhead for a response to whether Rack Extensions could suffer the same fate, and they gave this response to share, "Rack Extensions are ...
