PLEASE READ:Familiar with Reason 5 via laptop?
This is the way it works. :) You can only use your computer keyboard for entering notes, with the on-screen piano window open. Take "S" for example. It enables/disables snap to grid by default, but changes to the note D with the on-sceen piano keys enabled/open. Recording works fine here, when rec...

PLEASE READ:Familiar with Reason 5 via laptop?
You need to make sure your device you want the notes to trigger is highlighted on the left hand of the sequencer window, not highlighted in the rack.

dsp solution for reason
Yeah I had one of them intel chips two years ago but it blew up on me! I find the fx is much more powerful than that one anyways. I thought [/i] my dual Six Core Opterons (12 cores total) were powerful. It seemed like they could do a lot of stuff in Reason. But their motherboard failed, and I didn'...

MClass as low pass filter
If you need a low pass filter why not just use a ECF-42? Cause the mclass is very cpu efficient, its when I need a lot of them, I will look into the stereo imager, I guess its pretty cpu efficient Thanks for the replys Why do you think the MClass EQ is more efficient than the ECF-42? They are prob...

MClass as low pass filter
I know in the end its the sound that matters but does setting low self gain to -12db on mclass sort of simulates a 12 db/oct LPF (considering they both have the same Q) I know they wont sound exactly the same cause every filter has its own personnality Out of curiosity, just looking for the 12 db/o...

MClass as low pass filter
The MClass EQ has adjustable Q and Gain, so those combined together set your rolloff slope. Filters that are specified in 6,12, or 24 db/oct have a fixed rolloff. But the real question is, why does that matter? The way is sounds is what matters. Edit: Also, a typical low pass filter will block ev...

dsp solution for reason
Yeah I had one of them intel chips two years ago but it blew up on me! I find the fx is much more powerful than that one anyways. What I think might help is a decent piece of software that shows where my system is lacking. The only results I can analyze show max 30 percent cpu and max 70 percent ra...

I can haz gate?
If you are looking to do things on the cheap with Essentials, you could create a poor mans gate using a combinator, MClass Compressor, and Line Mixer. I've attached a combinator, but in a nutshell you use the gain reduction CV output of the compressor to modulate the output of the line mixer such th...

Zoom your Reason rack
For anyone on OS X, System Prefrences > Accessilibity -> Zoom. I personally enable the 'Use scroll gesture with modifier to zoom': ^ Control, Turn smooth images off, Zoom style: Fullscreen.
Then its just Control + Scroll Up/Down and it works like magic.
