(Ambient Orchestral) Rise

Hello! Here's one I just finished using Spitfire LABS Frozen Strings and Moon Guitar. Trying to do something more organic.

Re: Things that should happen automatically

Something that should NOT happen automatically is appending “copy” and “copy 2” to every duplicated device. Should be an option in the preferences.

Re: (Ambient) Stand

Hello! Thank you for the kind words and for taking the time to listen. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it. "Going Home" was a really fun project and I'm grateful for the constraints of the competition. The limitation always brings out something unexpected. Thanks again!

Re: New Sampler Thread

Actually, I think regardless of whether the new sampler does multi samples or not the new combinator is a game changer here. Pack creators could very well sample something and make a pack dedicated to just that. No one’s done it yet but I could be a great avenue to go down if it can be done with mi...

Re: New Sampler Thread

I’ll preface that I’m in favor of a newer NNXT. However, the Spitfire Labs stuff could very much be pulled off now in NNXT since they’re not incredibly large in size and there’s not much to the UI. And the new Combinator does open up some more possibilities. And also, there’s nothing stopping REs o...

Re: New Sampler Thread

What Spitfire has done with their LABS series shows how great a new entry into sampled instruments can be. (And that’s for free, no less!) Of course, LABS is basically a rompler but if RS partnered with a high-quality instrument company like Spitfire they could release or sell expansions to the new ...

Re: New Sampler Thread

I’d love full modulation of sample start and end, time-stretching and auto-layering of zones by velocity. For example, I’d love to load 128 samples into the sampler and automatically create velocity layers to randomly play different samples based on incoming velocity.

Re: The Combinator v2 Thread

I hope the mix channels and the mixer are updated to allow for more macro controls in v2 patches. I also hope modulation routings can be copied and pasted across identical devices. I am excited by this announcement. Combinators are the backbone of my workflow and increased CV routing and processing ...

Re: Your favorite LFO RE?

Here’s another endorsement for Little LFO. As far as I know, it’s the only LFO option that can drop right down to 0.000Hz. This means it can double as a sample-and-hold device. If the oscillator is key-synced and the waveform is set to noise, each incoming gate will trigger a different value and hol...

Re: Sequencer note velocity to mod wheel cv?

You could put the Malstrom inside a Combinator with a Thor, using the Thor for its CV only. In Thor’s mod matrix, route the velocity to CV output 1, then wire a CV cable from the rear of Thor to the Mod Wheel input on the rear of the Combinator. Now if you play, the velocity of each note should mani...

Re: Algoritm Song Competition!

Just finished my entry! Wanted to do something orchestral. 30 instances of Algoritm and some drum samples from Orkester, Synchronous and the SSL mixer for effects. https://soundcloud.com/timmy-crowne/not-a-moment-too-soon This sounds great. I downloaded Algoritm with some ideas for some heavy stuff...

“Included DAW?” I actually laughed out loud. And all this time I thought Reason was a stand-alone DAW with an included plug-in. How the turntables.

Re: Reason updates (11.3.7 / 11.3.8) and Reason+

Quick recap of my efforts at presenting a positive approach to all this. I have been gone at least since Reason Suite launched, so a little over one year. In that time I have grown and done a lot. Picture yourself a little over a year from now. What do you want to have accomplished in that time? Ju...

Re: Reason updates (11.3.7 / 11.3.8) and Reason+

Not saying they did a great job with the release. But given it is a basic function for the new product, it needed to be in place before launch, right? I actually think the order would have been better reversed. An announcement, blog post, or livestream explaining the way forward before launching th...

Re: Reason updates (11.3.7 / 11.3.8) and Reason+

That is assuming they released it with the intention to create hype. What if that wasn't the case? What would that do to your argument? Fair question. But what would be the purpose of releasing a software update that adds a visible option to the preferences pane with no accompanying documentation t...

Re: Reason updates (11.3.7 / 11.3.8) and Reason+

RS releases the 11.3.7 update on Monday to generate hype. Who would be hyped? Existing users of course, since they would primarily be the ones who would see the updated preferences pane. RS releases a short video clip declaring that all questions would be answered in two days. Existing users, by an...

Re: Reason updates (11.3.7 / 11.3.8) and Reason+

The thing that is making all this so distasteful to most of us is the timing. Had RS first shipped a "catch-up" Reason 12 release with: Hi-res graphics Revamped sequencer Modern browser VST3 and VST MIDI-out Combinator 2 Track folders Video import Most of us here would have praised RS for listening ...

Re: Reason updates (11.3.7 / 11.3.8) and Reason+

If this gives RS the money they need to finally deliver the features veteran users have been asking for, and fast, I actually don't mind the subscription. That being said, the hype RS started building two days ago primed me to spend money on music production again. I was disappointed by this announc...
