Re: ReasonTalk Winter Competition!

I changed it to private, I was not sure about it, that if it's private does mean that only I can ear it or the link I provided would work at all. :?: If you change a public link to private then the link you submitted to Reasontalk becomes invalid. Furthermore, you have to click the share button and...

Re: Are you participating in the RT Winter Competition?

Hell to the yizzle. They didn't call me Ace back in my high school hip hop days for nothing. Granted I don't think I'll win but it was a fun one day project nonetheless. :)

Re: Inspiration and creativity

I suppose I do have a "mechanical" approach as the OP suggested. I'm scheduled for music sessions on the days I'm not working my paying job. That's all there is to it. Some days I'll get something good. Other days I'll get some crap or maybe nothing at all. I work on an aspect of craft refinement on...

Re: Inspiration and creativity

Kill your darlings. This is a method I fully embrace and I'm not sure if many people really understand it. The way I see it, existence is temporary, and this will not matter very much anyways. I see people hold on tight as if they are shitting gold when it is my opinion that they should be letting ...

Re: Electronic Music Recommendations Wanted

Yeah di.fm is good with something for everybody. Spotify is good if you already have a lead such as a favorite artist posting playlists. I follow some artists and labels on SoundCloud who do their own radio shows of selected music. Then there's also Mixcloud. Is Pandora still around? You can build a...

Thanks! I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something. That Robotic Bean CV Select device gets me to where I want to be so it's all good.

PSQ Question

I don't know if this has gone over my head but how are you supposed to toggle between sequences with different notation and gate values within PSQ. I've been routing different gate and CV values to the Robotic Bean CV Select and then just automating that. I'm wondering if I'm just making more work f...

Dark Ambient Spoken Word Video

The Eventide Blackhole reverb is a tricky beast but I feel it is the highlight of my creative project tonight. I'm reading an excerpt from the War of Art by Steven Pressfield.

Re: Tracklib - The Future of Sampling

Heard about a few months back. It's fantastic. No clear downsides at all. I just found out about it today and signed up to be on the list! This is very exciting and could have a significant impact on what I'm doing with music. I was recently talking smack about the hip hop scene in my city but this...

Re: Feeding Show

These videos sometimes remind me of how the Joker uses the television. It feels like something truly horrifying could happen. I think these videos are a way of mending the nets (or sharpening the knives) for me. I don't have it in me to do music on my work days so I resort to this and then maybe th...

Re: How many songs did you finish in 2017?

btw, your newer name as of this year always makes me consider taking a walk down to the taco truck here in Oakland. Not quite SD style and sometimes less quality but the pavlovian response is still overwhelming lol  I'm sure Oakland is still good though. For the longest time I didn't know the ...

Re: How many songs did you finish in 2017?

I can only dream of pulling off a hundred tracks in a year. Sketches or eight bar loops is easy but actual flushed out arrangements and mixes take an incredible amount of focus. Congrats to whoever pulled that off. :wtf:

Re: Using a controller fader to sweep notes?

Ok this is my last post and then I will have had too many sips of beer. How about routing into PSQ to control the octave RANGE and then route from the PSQ to Ochen K CV Tuner to sweep through the SCALE! I hope by scale you mean locrian, aeolian, mixolydian, phrygian (my favorite), etc. etc. because ...

Re: Using a controller fader to sweep notes?

I don't know. I am talking about taking a vanilla CV signal out of ANY knob or CV generator. Then routing it through CV Tuner so that its not a continuous CV signal anymore but snaps to note values. And then using that CV signal to route it into an instruments "note" CV input, using another gate si...

Re: Using a controller fader to sweep notes?

You can sweep through "scales" as you say by throwing the Ochen K CV Tuner in a Combinator and then mapping a knob to that parameter. Am I missing something?
