Re: Tritone Refill Antidote

About two years ago I actually tried to do something similar, using your method as inspiration and the result sucked really bad. That’s my life story right there. But the inspiration, even when sending me right off a cliff for the 10,000th time, always returns. And then I am like, well, maybe I cou...

Re: (Electronic / Super Audio Cart) - Follow My Lead

Updated the mix. Mainly I've pushed all the leads/melodies a bit more forward. Essentially that's what this song is about, the leads.

I guess rack extensions are called ”add-ons” nowadays.
Add-ons = Rack Extensions and ReFills.
Rack Extensions are still Rack Extensions.
Alright, didn’t know that.

Re: Looks like Reason Studios have redesigned their site...

Not really a fan of the new look myself, but that’s ok. I understand they want to attract more young people. Maybe this is one way to do it.

I’m glad the shop/rack extension page still looks ”clean” at least. That’s the page I care about. I guess rack extensions are called ”add-ons” nowadays.

Those patches in the "random" folder! Wow!! Very cool.
Thanks. Glad you like them.
Like I said my patches really aren't advanced. There's usually very little to them on a technical level. But what I do try to achieve is to find the sweet spots when it comes to tweaking.

Re: Tritone Refill Antidote

https://youtu.be/_ubrRzds0ag Nice  I like it. The different parts really fit well together. And your usual way of adjusting the volume on different sounds together with the live tweaking worked really well here too. About two years ago I actually tried to do something similar, using your...

Re: Tritone Refill Antidote

Thanks! I love your presets. I remember you saying, not too long ago, that you had never tried your hand at sound design. Well, it seems as though you have a knack for it. Good work and keep them coming! Thanks I appreciate it. Yes I started making my own patches late 2021. It's become a growing li...

Tritone Refill Antidote

I haven't made any patches in quite a while so I figured it was time to revisit an old synth again. This time I went with Antidote. This is a small refill with only 30 patches. No combinator patches. As usual they are on the simpler side as that is what I prefer to work with myself when it comes to ...

Re: What have you been listening to?

I've recently gone back to listen to old Marilyn Manson songs. I used to listen to him a lot during my teenage years. To be honest it's so refreshing to listen to a voice with a lot of life and character and "mistakes". It's such a contrast to how most music is made today. I have a very hard time wi...

Re: Possible forum reorganization? Thoughts?

In general I like the way RT is organized and functions. I mean threads can always drift into stuff a bit outside of the main topic, but that's simply the way conversations work. I think the different categories are fine the way they are. If I had any wish it would be the ability to edit comments fo...

Re: (Electronic / Super Audio Cart) - Follow My Lead

OK, just when I convinced myself I don't need Super Audio Cart.... Really nice track. It does have that mod-tracker feel to it, probably also because of SAC :puf_wink: This style is what I like best from what you do, although the quality is always there. It sounds still a bit like a rough m...

Re: (Electronic / Super Audio Cart) - Follow My Lead

Great melody. Lovely full-sounding production. I really like the harmonies and fade around 2.17. Out of curiosity, are you a keyboard player? It feels like, listening to this. Thanks  Not really a keyboard player, but I can see why you'd think that as this song is very synth lead heavy. ...

(Electronic / Super Audio Cart) - Follow My Lead

I haven't spent time with Reason in quite some time now. This is the first track I've done this year. The most prominent instrument in this track is Super Audio Cart. It's used for the main lead, bass, pads, kick and snare. I might go back and make smaller tweaks to the mix and arrangement later on,...

Re: What did you just buy yourself?

I bought my second Udu drum. This particular model is called Udongo. It's a rather weird one but I like it. https://thumbs.static-thomann.de/thumb/padthumb600x600/pics/bdb/_23/234339/10128595_800.jpg They look cool. Re: You know what the whole problem is nowadays about making music?

The hard part is putting together a full track that's interesting to listen to from start to finish. And this is exactly what I could do when I was just using an Amiga or a W30. Or early Reason. I just can't do it anymore. I get distracted by the whole plethora of instruments and whatnot. You could...

Re: You know what the whole problem is nowadays about making music?

I mean if ones goal is to just make a decent sounding loop, then sure it might not be very hard with current tools. The hard part is putting together a full track that's interesting to listen to from start to finish. Like Selig said you can choose your own preferred method of creating music. There's...

Re: Producing through "mastering" chain?

I always start a song "clean" whithout anything on the master. But I typically add stuff like masterbus compression and a limiter once the song starts to take form. I might adjust the settings along the way when I'm working on a song. I know there are different opinions on the matter, but this is th...

Re: Do you get a lot of use out of the Reason players?

As far as players go, the two that has gotten the most use for me are Beatmap and Evolution. But I typically only use what they give me as a starting point and then I tweak, make variations and turn it into my own thing.

Re: Learning a new instrument

A little update  Got myself an ocarina about a week ago. So now I have a small collection of new instruments. I spent quite a bit of money on all these, but I have zero regrets. I'm having so much fun with them and I switch between them constantly. Having never played a wind instrument be...
