Yet more beginner questions..
Have a look at the manual on CV, the RPG-8 and global shuffle. Most things should become clearer this way. Also you could check with the demo version of live which notes and timings are produced by the arp using identical settings as in the video and then transfer those over to reason.

Reason 8.3 Official Public Test Thread
I suppose, the mix channel rack device is still missing the gain knob, or has this been fixed in 8.3?

The arp in Live has the "Distance"-Knob directly available. In Reason you might have to trim the note-CV to get the same effect. Or you can simply use a chord with the notes you want, limited to one octave and then set random mode on the RPG-8. Also don't forget to enable the shuffle mode and adjust...

Reason 8.3: RV7000 gets convolution :-)
Hmm, looks like Reason 8 is slowly approaching a usable state. Now they only have to fix kong, add a block launcher, include block layering and throw in some free REs with the update, then I won't wait for Reason 9 with updating from R7.

Kong is not the right device for this. Simply load the sample, that you want to pitch into NN19 and connect it to the RPG-8.

That file stays at a very low level for me, therefore I guess that you've got some kind of feedback loop in your audio setup.

You have to buy the free update of the bundle in the shop. Then under your account you'll have a new "Tutorials" tab with further instructions.

New RE prices (for all EURO buyers) june 1st
Looks like I was right, now it's 9 EUR to update CV mutant. They should really introduce a lower minimum, so devs are not forced on asking a minimum of 9 EUR if they want to do a paid update of a device.

So I guess the new minimal price for updates or REs for European customers is going to raise from 7,5 € to 9 €. That's a 20% increase, I'm not really happy about.

Isn't it possible to simply rewire Reason into the other DAW? If not, the Props could simply add this functionality to the Rewire protocol.

As the outboard rig is on sale right now and I've already got quite a few of the included REs I wonder how you would judge the included REs: (# = Must have, + = Thumbs up, ~ = OK, - = meh, ? = Don't know) Here's my take: ? 4Dyne ? Black Knight 5 Band Equalizer ? DCAM BusComp ? DCAM ChanComp ~ DCAM E...

I agree with Selig, but one thing I constantly wonder about is this:
Why did they put the channel fader on the mix channel rack device instead of the gain knob?

Not directly. But you can convert .SFZ to .SF2 with Polyphone and then load the presets from the .SF2 file with NN-XT.

If nothing else works, than you can extract/load the wav files (you can also use http://www.polyphone.fr/ to get those from sf2 files in case you want to have them isolated). also I think there are patch converters that can convert SFz/sf2 patches to nn-xt patches.

Prop Shop's May Madness Sale!
Hmm, the rigs are discounted only about 25% ($199 -> $149) in this sale, but maybe the Props are focussing on the full discount from normal prices here.Alkua wrote:I think in the Rigs. Probably Backline Rig, most of the RE cost $99 (piano, key, Re-tron, Guistarist, and revival)

I wonder which item is discounted at 75% (as advertised on the sale overview). I tried to find it in the list, but couldn't see more than about 66% off: https://shop.propellerheads.se/browse/? ... &view=list

Meteora sample based rompler is all grown up !!
Now it's really cheap, but I still don't like the very inconsistent levels of the included patches, the enormous amount of DSP quite a few of those consume and I'm also hearing quite a bit of noise in quite a few patches. Some sounds are quite nice, but even at 12 EUR I'm still hesitating due to the...

As long as all people discussing this here have not signed the NDA of the Propellerhead RE SDK it should not pose a problem. It's not like publishing this information is illegal unless you signed something prohibiting you from this.

It has been said that the SDK uses a CLANG compiler to compile C++ code which is invoking functions from a quite restrictive API.

RE8 to R8 upgrade price increase !
They might be working on successively lowering the price of Reason Essentials and in turn to up the price for an upgrade to Reason. This might be a good strategy for them, if they are planning to make Reason Essentials free in the future. That way they could massively increase the size of the RE mar...
