Re: Umpf Retro Beats
Y'all have heard me crabbin' about the UMPF! drum machine. Man alive, could we just have ONE with ALL the effects? I don't need more samples. It would be a nice update to the Sample section of Kong. Much easier to use, sounds better, just fantastic. And we have a gated reverb on the original UMPF. T...

Re: Tape Cassette Deck: Klevgränd Produkter AB Tape Deck Emulation
I know that cassette decks did not had CV input, but i would have been glad if this device would have a view. It would be cool 🙂 I could hear it on the wobble effect for making a gentle off-tempo pitch shift with a smoothed S&H, but I don't know if that would affect the REs effect on actual speed. ...

Tape Cassette Deck: Klevgränd Produkter AB Tape Deck Emulation
Saw it, bought it. Works exactly as I hoped it would. A really nice tape deck emulator that can go low-fidelity or high-fidelity, and doesn't get as nuts as CrapRe. Warm, but not overly warm. Distorts but not insanely. Wobbles but you have good control over how much. Subtle noise, even on high, the ...

Re: KRON CV Toolbox version 1.2 in the shop (new features and on sale)!
KRON is just amazing for anything modular. It's a heavy utility, but one way to look at it is that it can reduce the amount of LFO utilities that you would normally place with other synths. Kinda like a Grand Central Station of sorts. Taking a look at the backside of those Noise Engineering modules,...

Re: RE-202 Exciter is pretty good!
Nice post! I thought I was reading a blog there for a minute...a really interesting one. I would love to hear your take on the Relight Harmonic Exciter as well. Well, thank you! I will look into the Relight, but most likely, I'm just gonna stop here with the exciters. Now, I'm going to get obsessed...

RE-202 Exciter is pretty good!
I tried it out today, and I really like it. I have read many reviews of it's harshness, but many have countered that it's how you use it. Heck yeah, it's really harsh if you pump the living hell out of it. The way to use any exciter (and I learned back in the early 90s) is to raise it's values only ...

Re: UMPF Drums is ALMOST like a Max/MSP Sample Player
Did you see the brown device in the rent to own video? It looks just like UMPF but slightly different Oh yeah! It looks neat, but with no actual photo, hard to get excited about it. I do hope that it either is a device that does what I'm looking for or that they add some/all of my requests to UMPF :)

UMPF Drums is ALMOST like a Max/MSP Sample Player
And it's almost like the Bitwig sampler, or the Ableton Sampler. Right down to the "sound" of those devices. Grain does all the cool stuff I want it to do, but it definitely changes the character with it's granular models, and doesn't play back the samples in the same way. It's the strangest thing, ...

Re: Has Rack Extensions been a success and what do you think REs future will look like?
Kirk - I see you feel attacked or something? But that's no reason to make shit up because who ever said anything about leaving Reason for lack of preset devices? NOT I, Sir. I SAID I WOULDN'T BUY REs - in the hypothetical eurorack-centric future for Reason . Anyway, there are already a TON of CV de...

Re: Has Rack Extensions been a success and what do you think REs future will look like?
Your idea of more pre-made, in the box, commercial-ready devices is really useful. But if you want to leave the DAW for a lack of preset devices, why did you pick Reason? The entire idea behind Reason was to creatively connect devices in both traditional and non-traditional ways, and to make differe...

Re: Has Rack Extensions been a success and what do think REs future will look like?
I think the future of reason would rely heavily on Eurorack makers to port all of their shit to Reason. Ha - then watch me and the majority of Reason's users (the thousands NOT on this site) never buy a RE again. But at least the few hundred of you eurorack lovers + Reason owners (if there are even...

Re: Has Rack Extensions been a success and what do think REs future will look like?
But if they can do it for VSTs which we will still have access to but gives them access to a bigger market why would they go down the RE side of things? I mean first of all there would have to be massive interest in the market for it for them to go niche right? Not all Reason users are interested i...

Re: Poll: KRON & PSDN users: Reason version
Glad to hear of the updates - I use KRON with the Basimilus Iteritas module all the time to make it flip out. KRON's an excellent multi-modulator. Anybody needing modulation really should get the KRON, and the PDSN too. Take the time to learn KRON and PDSN, and you'll be rewarded with a multitude of...

Re: Professional mastering
I'm working on a simple, efficient, excellent sounding standard, that everyone could pull off with a bit of engineering knowledge. It will be open knowledge, of course. I'm interested - I've been able to get Reason to pop out some better sounds with a few better REs (and taking the time to get to k...

Kompulsion Triggering Issue
I just purchased the Basimilus Iteritas module and have connected it to the Kompulsion sequencer. I was able to get a bass-drum sound going on the BI, and the Kompulsion sequencer is triggering it just fine out of S1's "Gate" to the BI's "Trigger Gate". Then, I created a hi-hat sound on a second ins...

Re: Parsec 2 is in the shop!
I have to say, for all the terrible decisions and general product mismanagement at Propellerhead in recent years, Parsec is truly a thing of wonder. In a world of similar-sounding synths it stands out from the crowd. And I much prefer the the V2 UI. V1 looks like it was left unfinished by a Star Tr...

Re: Parsec 2 is in the shop!
I'd love to see the effects section from Grain and Europa implemented in Parsec. That would be handy! The delay/reverb are the same, but to have the rest would be fun :) Synchronous is the effects processor with all of the same effects algorithms, I believe, but it's not quite the same as having 'e...

Re: Korde Data into Kompulsion Data?
S'ok! I just remade the patch, didn't take long 🙂 By any chance, in the future, will we be able to automate the Kompulsion sequencers S1 through S16 with on/off messages? The future is now! Other than by hand, is there any other way to import Korde sequences into the Kompulsion Player? I love them both, but I love Kompulsion more.

Re: Is everyone buying the Umpf Club Drums?
I bought it when it was on sale. It’s cool it’s much better than using the nnxt to part out drums and gives you basic control over sound quality. I am rather bias when it comes to drums thou, I can’t live without my MPC. Absolutely! I forgot to mention that - the UMPF (to me) is like the MPC that I...

Re: Is everyone buying the Umpf Club Drums?
I got it for $49, and I love it. 18 years ago, I synthesized a bunch of drum and percussion samples, used to use them in redrum, but haven't in a long while. Popped 'em in UMPF and got me the abstract beats I was looking for by pairing it with Kompulsion. The chop effect puts out the right amount of...
