Re: Mimic: New Creative Sampler
SDK limitations. Iirc you can only load up to 8 user samples. There’s no such limit that I’m aware of, at least it’s not mentioned in the SDK docs. There is no limitation but I did some experiments and it seems the more user samples you have in motherboard def the slower the boot time of the RE in ...

Re: better way to use DR OCTO REX LOOP PLAYER
Another tip. Octorex isn´t very well suited for loops without transients but if you want to have a pad sound sequence with long attack and release times created by a synth say with a length of 4 bars 1. lower the tempo in Reason sequencer by 30 BPM, e. g. from 128 to 90 2. Bounce in place to generat...

Re: Mimic: New Creative Sampler
No. I don't have 12 yet, I'm communicating that it blows me away that this apparently isn't possible. Not being able to reverse per slice is a bizarre omission. The Renoise sampler is lightyears ahead of this mediocre thing. It's an insult really. But they did it again, conned me into buying their ...

Re: Robotic Bean -60% in the shop
My problem with this approach is that the button no longer reflects the current state it is in - would be like an on/off button reading “off” when it’s on and “on” when it’s off… No, it would always display a stop icon when playing and a play icon when stopped whether playing when pressed or hittin...

Re: Audio clip launcher for live or jam stuff
Thanks for the tips. Yes if the new sampler could do this...that would be a very good thing. But again I clearify my question: Is there a Rack extension , that can trigger audio files in sync and loop. Important: No extra software or rex loops. No, there isn´t. I started one but stopped because of ...

Re: Do you think reason will ever get a better sampler?
I think you are right with the tabs and that you can switch between more editing windows. And there seems to be a little keyboard display maybe for key assignment. Still not sure why they didn't just update the NN-XT? It only needed a new skin or more modern gui, it's own sample editor (useable in ...

Re: Combinator to switch connected VSTs on or off
Assuming you mean the On/Off buttons for the VST, I'm pretty sure you'll find it's impossible. They aren't automatable (VST On/Off isn't an available parameter in either the Combinator or the VST Programmer). Nor do they show the Remote Control or Keyboard Control Override option when right clicked...

Re: Complex-1 Remote Overrides puzzler
Aha. Thank you so much, lowtom! I never would've thought that switching 'show cables' on/off would change accessibility to those controls. Also, what do you mean when you say 'custom screen area'? Can you give another example? From my understanding, there are several RE's (in example ABL3) that use...

Re: Reason Remote Override Bug!!! (confirmed and explained)
In Europa, the shape and lots of other properties are of continuous number type ranging from 0.0 to 1.0 (floating point) while e. g. octave is a stepped value with a min = 0 and max = 4 (integer). This might explain why there is a difference in behaviour. Maybe there are rounding errors when convert...

Re: Hi-Res - slightly disappointed
On the other hand I am really saddened seeing response here. People complain about splash screens or hi res loading time. Both of which are really no practical issues. Because you don't make music with splash screens nor do you have problems with the hires screens once they load completely. After t...

Re: High resolution Reason is here!
As a 1080p user I don't really stand to gain anything from the revamped graphics engine. If anything, my experience has been kind of worsened with increased RAM usage and cache delays, and that sort of sucks. BUT ! I don't want to be a Debbie Downer here - I think it's a great step in the right dir...

Re: Disabling high resolution in Reason 12.. Will it be possible?
It's really strange, at the beginning when you load a synthesizer it'll look completely terrible, then it'll slowly load a better looking version for some reason. For the first 10 seconds, the filter section Europa had completely unreadable text, until it slowly rendered the elements... This feels ...

Re: High resolution Reason is here!
First and foremost, thanks to the RS dev team for the HiRes. I´m optimistic it is on a good way. As a software dev myself I imagine (and it was also stated by RS) it was a huge undertaking esp. since it was never tested to rollout so many REs in HiRes and bigger bitmaps for different zoom levels has...

Re: Spectra is now free
I´m not so much into additive synthesis and have never bothered with this synth. I own Parsec but I did not like the sound. Now I tried Spectra. Wow, the filters sound so good, very snappy and it works really well with a Synapse Audio Deep Reverb after it. So thank you synthtechsound for this great ...

Re: Using MIDI from Evolution to switch patterns in Sequences?
Ok, so I have working solution based on stock players and the free Select CV Switch where you can switch between Pattern 1 to 5 with C#, D#, F#, G#, A# Reason 11 Song file attached. Evolution -> Scale & Chords (used as filter to allow only black keys) -> Note Echo (transposes black keys one semitone...

Re: Using MIDI from Evolution to switch patterns in Sequences?
I have another idea since I saw that RB Select CV Switch allows to switch pattern with MIDI notes C3 - C4. In Scales and Chords Player Key C and scale Major would only allow white key notes, so any incoming sharp note would (possibly) converted to the next white key note, C3, D3, E3, etc. Not 100 % ...

Re: Using MIDI from Evolution to switch patterns in Sequences?
I've got a setup where there's an instance of Evolution playing an instance of Chordline which is playing a piano. Chordline is using three chord sets, each in a different key (C, F and G). Evolution is playing more or less random patterns You know how Chordline works: white MIDI notes (i.e. white ...

Re: Reason a plugin?
My guess is that they've tallied up the figures and determined that the DAW aspect of it has hit market saturation, and that (perhaps) they've simply not been attracting many brand new customers in recent editions. It's feasible (and again, this is pure guesswork) that the bulk of their DAW sales h...

Re: RB Sequences Player RE - quick tip for long chord progressions
Nice little tip if you want to cram a long chord progression (e. g. 16 bars) into one single Sequences pattern by using trigger conditions and octave tranpositions to avoid layering notes so you can see them all at once (much less confusing). Let´s say we have a chord progression spanning 16 bars i...

Re: RB Sequences Player RE - quick tip for long chord progressions
FYI: You can get 256 steps per pattern, using all patterns that is 2048 steps.... Do you mean by using ratchet repeats and pitch? True, this gives you 256 steps per pattern. That might be another interesting way of doing it but I think it might be bit too cumbersome to edit for a chord progression ...

Re: "The Reason Sound"
IMHO, from a software development perspective, it makes no sense that audio processing code on the floating point numbers inside the DAW (some might refer to this as "audio engine") changes the audio information data by adding or removing information except if it was caused by a defect or bug. You´d...
