Re: (Trance) RTFX-Mindpower
It sounds very nice RTFX. I love the sound of that main synth hammering away. The bass really sounds perfectly aligned with that sound, like in 2:05 when you can hear it clearly. I love that creepy noise that comes in up high. Somehow I reckon that hi synth could bend a little more and have some mo...

Re: (piano/vocals/beat) The Past [challenge: Spot the movie reference I left in the tune.]
this is a fantastic mix and great performance. All the sounds work and I the piano never gets lost and the vocals are processed to stay right on top without being overbearing. Did you sidechain the master comp to 'listen' to the vocal to duck the music?

Re: (Rock/Synth) Let Loose by Pacific Deep - Rob Papen RGRE challenge
full sounding track. Cool use of the RGRE. When all else fails with taming the sssssizzle try drawing them down with automation. If it's the FX return you can eq out the offending frequency with a heavier hand and stay fairly transparent.

Dont know Starcraft yet just dont google a band called starcraft and you're fine  on topic: that e-guitar is synthetic? impressive. Wow. Thanks for the compliment on the guitar sound. It was a labor of love. Gonna geek out for a bit on how I got there. In that section there are 2 live guitars...

Re: instrumental: Parsec and a whole lotta Scream/RP Distort
Appreciate the feedback. Sorry for the 'granular' distortion at the beginning of the chorus section. I forgot to turn off the frequency ducker that is making space for the vocals (which are muted at the moment). But it kinda gave me an idea. When you use one of those plugs/RE like Trackspacer or in ...

Re: Best refill for heavy drums? (black metal, grindcore, etc)
Drumdroops have some nice ReFills. This is the one that might fit your needs, and it's one of my favorite kits ever. https://www.drumdrops.com/drum-samples/mapex-heavy-rock-kit/intro For $29 this kit is a steal. The one from Drums On Demand is a self contain NNXT (I built a combinator by separating...

Re: (Progressive Electro) I/O
one way to achieve some separation in the layered synth lines would be to try this Re: https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/carve-eq-ducker/ . The battle for loudness amongst the sounds could be as simple as ducking some frequencies. taking from one so the other can have 'space' instead of volume....

I saw Melodic Rock and got excited. Has the track been pulled or re-linked? I would like to hear it if it's available?

Re: (atmospheric techno) Think About The Chances
to my ears, the sounds that are sibilant just need some dynamic eq. that may help them 'sit down' without becoming overly dull. maybe dampen the verb a bit (if that is verb I am hearing or modulated verb?) Totally fell into listening to the entire track. New fan.

Re: (acoustic folk)Two songs I engineered & arranged
spot on production. Thoroughly enjoying the soundscape. Tasteful introduction of instruments/percussion. The female voice is haunting. I am typing as I listen. Blown away by the swells and panning. Don't think I've heard a harmonica sound this good. I am actually envious of the filtering effects as ...

Re: Faturator vs Scream4 Question ?
I just posted a track smothered with Scream / RP Distort / Sat Knob in the Reason Music thread. I think I even used Scream to distort the Reverb return on the Bass (yes. I put reverb on a bass track, which apparently is a sin against mankind......at least on those snobby gearhead forums)

instrumental: Parsec and a whole lotta Scream/RP Distort
I am new to the forum. Long time Reason user. All tracks in this instrumental version written and edited in Reason. Mixed out using Rewire. I will journey back in this thread tonight and listen and comment to your shared work! The song is titled Cyanide. The version with vocals will be posted in May...

Re: if Reason 9 only changed one thing...
How about a Props designed/developed external VST/AU Host that automatically Rewires from Reason? Sorta like they did when they first introduced audio recording with Record? Call it RE-Wired (lol). Best of both worlds and would satisfy this long time Reason user forced to Rewire 'into' the future.. ...

Re: Eq in Reason
A little about how I use reason. I write and edit in reason. The only EQ I do there is cut, usually with the Mclass. I rewire out so I can waste thousands of hours in the endless quest for that 'sound'! In the end, I find that what makes the cut out of reason are the 'special fx'. That's why I use i...

Re: Eq in Reason
The 'board' EQ in Reason is a model of one of the top modeled EQ sections by plugin developers. Every company has one. Now that Reason includes the EQ curves on the spectrum analyzer......game. set. match. As for the MClass....does anyone use that to boost? For me, I like for EQ boost to have a 'sou...

Re: Faturator vs Scream4 Question ?
Oh yes! I mean the Sat Knob is on every channel in my sessions (the shimmer/wideness it can add to cymbals is awesome). To me it's like 'built-in' to the channel. Props should just put it on the board with an option to go Pre or Post EQ / Comp etc.

Re: Faturator vs Scream4 Question ?
In my opinion, Scream is distortion heaven. I've tried every RE distortion box usually find myself back to Scream (or Audiomatic for something more subtle). Check out RP Distort and Etch. The drive circuits in Etch go from smooth to screech. Outside of Reason there is an ocean of distortion. I've ne...

Re: COME ON PROPS...IT'S 2016...
if one DAW did it all there would be zero competition. Props has stuck to their guns (for better or worse). I was a RE enthusiast. Then I realized it got in the way of my rewire setup (things that I would use at the end of the rewire chain were ending up in the middle). If someone asked why do you l...

Re: Best refill for heavy drums? (black metal, grindcore, etc)
some good points made about the Ryan Green sample pack. I've found that using the transient designer in Kong or the Fxpansion EnvShaper RE can help 'loosen' or 'punch up' the kicks and snares nicely. No luck with the toms (they sound great. just not to my taste).
