Re: Controller mod wheel rubber degrading

If it's just sticky try warm soapy water. Then try sticky label remover. Then, if you are feeling brave, try a solvent like acetone. I've had success with all these methods in the past. If it is falling apart contact Novation. They can supply common spares for their stuff and sometimes for really ol...

Re: I much prefer Reason to Ableton, but I really wish Reason could do this...

Someone will post the crappy workaround for this in Reason. The workaround does work but it's a bit, um, crappy.
They should rework MIDI recording to match the way audio recording works where you get multiple takes and can comp them together.
But they probably won't!

Re: FREE! Behringer Vintage Plugin synth

Watching yt video of this I felt, nah sounds plain. I dont need this, I have better :) Like I said, it's decent but not world beating. The display is excellent and really encourages you to tweak stuff. You can get some good sounds out of it but the presets it ships with are not that great and most ...

Re: FREE! Behringer Vintage Plugin synth

I followed the link and the instructions and I downloaded the synth and got the licence key via email - two days ago @ about 5pm UK time. I'm assuming they had to take the product down due to the server load but they are bound to put it back up again soon enough. Have patience - it is free after all...

Pros: It's a synth. Most Arturia stuff is good. Cons: It's got a bad name. It costs $$$$. Did I mention the price? But, yes, Analog Lab in hardware form. Great idea. But that price. Re: FREE! Behringer Vintage Plugin synth

It's decent enough. It won't win any prizes for innovation but you can get some nice sounds out of it and the price is hard to argue with.
I'm wondering if this is the start of their DAW push. They are supposed to be developing a free DAW so they'll need a few instruments to go with it.

Cubase 13 crossgrade on sale with goodies

If ever you've yearned for Cubase Pro now is a good time to jump in.
Their competitive crossgrade is just £213.50 and includes a bunch of freebies from other companies and you no longer need the dongle.
A Reason 6 or higher licence qualifies for this price:

Re: Safari warning of Reasontalk password leak?

Even better to use individual email addresses and passwords for each site. If you include the domain name of the site in the mail address you can even see who got breached or leaked your data. I only recently learned that gmail effectively gives you infinite "subaddresses" on the account that can b...

Re: Presonus ruffling feathers with their latest update.

This is sounding “Bitwig-ish”. Will this be the next company to make a bad move then retract due to user outrage? I think it would’ve made more sense to make it a for purchase add on. Still may’ve pissed off some but at least it would’ve been understood as a business move. They’ll probably end up d...

Re: Presonus ruffling feathers with their latest update.

It's not a paid update for anyone who is already on V6.x. Look in your Presonus account. Sorry for misspeaking. The comment section was such a dumpster fire with many saying it was a paid update. I should’ve known to check for myself lol. I think I was more confused at the synth for subs only. I do...

Have you got two different RS accounts by any chance?
If not then get on to support and ask them where your R10 licence has gone.

The synth isn't that great but it sets a precedent for the subscription to diverge further from the pe...

My last two music PCs have just used the gfx interface built-in to the motherboard and been fine for everything, including scoring to video. The only downside is that it nicks a bit of the main RAM so make sure you have enough of that.

Re: Reason 10 To Reason 12

If you download and install the latest from Companion, you get the latest. Companion doesn't support Reason 10. Not sure if you are running a trial, but might just have been running Reason 12 in demo mode. Having only a trial version is a frightening thought(as I no longer have my Reason 10) and I ...

Nice to see they have seen sense and changed to a robust "original chunky sized" USB socket. The flimsy mini USB socket on my LPK failed just out of warranty and I was far from alone judging from user reports online.

The suggestion is that future versions of everything will not be permitted to include VST2 support, even the current release already does. No idea how it will be policed or enforced. There is a thread on KVR, including a link to the new Steinberg licence agreement: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/vi...

Re: Steinberg discontinues vst2 for all users

It looks like Steinberg has forced all developers in the current SDK for VST 3 to discontinue VST 2, both in the plugins and in the DAWs ! The whole thing should then be implemented with the next update of the DAW or the plugin. :( So in the next update of Reason or any vst plugin you...

Re: Korg M1, installing factory sounds

As it's a one off it's probably easier to do it with a freebie MIDI utility like MIDIOX or Pocket MIDI.

(With the M1 you're going to love the keybed but hate the user interface - a festival of menu-diving and clicky buttons)
