Re: Audio crackling/pop
Just to jump in here and say I have experienced the same since going to Windows 11. The best way to describe it for me is that Reason seems extra sensitive to *anything* else happening on the system, like opening a new window, scrolling, opening/closing an application, etc. All while CPU was hardly ...

Re: R11 Suite - in hindsight
I think there are some good sounds in Reason but without audio previews for patches, a lot of them will sadly never be discovered. I have often thought about using dry spells to categorise patches into some favourites but I mean, that's a huge job. I'd LOVE to see a Live or Komplete style browser so...

Reason 12 and Windows 11
Hey all, I updated to W11 a while back mostly so it would leave me tf alone about it but ever since then Reason is giving me very small pops and clicks at the same audio settings as before. Any ideas on where to look in 11 for maximising performance with R12 beyond just upping the buffer size?

Re: Get started with the new EP-133, K.O.II by Teenage Engineering (Tutorial)
Following up on this, I saw a great video on GAS Therapy that put me on to Koala. It's like 3 bucks, with perhaps around 10 worth of IAPs to unlock everything. And I'd say it mirrors and surpasses the KO II in most ways, except; - No patterns/scenes per group; just multiple global patterns for all p...

Re: Get started with the new EP-133, K.O.II by Teenage Engineering (Tutorial)
I do not trust that company at all. That thing looks like some junk you’d get for £29 on Temu. Yeah quality issues coming to the fore now. Poor packaging and tight fader caps causing damage on fitting are the main culprits. Plus I've heard of people's speaker dying (not that it's much use anyway). ...

Re: Get started with the new EP-133, K.O.II by Teenage Engineering (Tutorial)
I must admit I initially ignored this product as I assumed the price tag would be close to four figures! It's an interesting one and I'm not sure it has much competition at that price point. I wish the display was better. At least it's a starburst rather than a seven segment but in 2023 there are m...

Re: Get started with the new EP-133, K.O.II by Teenage Engineering (Tutorial)
I was very close to pulling the trigger. Went with K14 Collector's Edition in the end to absolutely max out my Maschine Mk3 soundsets and I _think_ I'm glad I went that route instead but damn if the FOMO isn't getting to me. My YouTube is absolutely full of this thing, and I absolutely love the look...

Re: Ableton Live 12
Okay just watched the MIDI tools video and I'm sold. Pre-ordered. Wouldn't normally do that for a DAW (or for anything in fact) but this looks like another case for just using RRP in Live without feeling like I'm missing out on lots of Player functionality. If you're regular Live user, why wouldn't...

Re: Ableton Live 12
It's been a long time since I used Ableton Live. Not taking the session view into account, how does Live's sequencer compare to Reason's? It's swings and roundabouts. Reason's automation is better/clip based. Live has some useful MIDI features like time stretching note groups, note folding and scal...

Re: Cubase 13 and Studio One 6.5
I’m gonna have a crack at making this my main DAW. I’ve always thought the MIDI editor was great. I’m glad they’ve revamped the mixer aesthetic because I haven’t liked it for several versions now. I know the workflow is perhaps a bit ‘conventional’ but ya know, I just wanna record some audio, and ed...

Arturia Analog Lab + Keylab 61 + Reason
Hey all! Has anyone had any luck controlling Analog Lab from within Reason, while Reason is configured as the master/controller keyboard? The transport/daw controls seem to take precedent over the plugin, even if I switch the preset on the keyboard to Analog Lab instead of DAW. Is it not possible?

Re: MusicTech: Niklas Agevik talks Reason 13
I mean there's certainly a reason that I go to Reason when I could just as easily open up Live or Cubase. It *is* more inviting, to me. It's more fun. It feels like something I've earned after a long day; it doesn't feel like more work. Of course I think they could still take some inspiration from o...

Re: Neptune - Can't Get Vocal Audio Out
Yeah always best to go back to basics and go through process of elimination in these cases. What kind of mic is it? Does it require phantom power?ChulaCoola wrote: ↑08 Oct 2023I plugged my guitar in to the same channel, it sounds fine. Might be my mic.

Re: Neptune - Can't Get Vocal Audio Out
Do you hear audio if you monitor through an audio track with no effects on it? Likewise, can you record dry signal from a mic/instrument and see the waveform in the clip without Neptune or any other insert active?
If you can do that, Neptune *will* work. If not then something else is up.

Re: Pitch shifting (needing advice)
What you're talking about is pitch envelopes for audio, and Reason can't do this. I very much wish it could! I think you could maybe put Neptune on it and just automate pitch on that (making sure to disable key tracking and scale correction). You could also drag the sample into Mimic and then make s...

Hey! So this was actually started in Live, just on my bed with my laptop. But the sequencer was doing my head in so I stemmed it out and replaced some things/finished it in Reason proper (all the synths were RRP anyway so it was like using Reason with extra steps lol) https://paulortiz.bandcamp.com...

Re: Limitations limiting avalable sounds for making a song
i’m gonna start limiting myself to a sound bank collection or a few refills for every track like choose 3 refills or two instruments and a few effects and make a track from that is this beneficial ? who does this ? am i mad ? thanksn I do this sometimes. I like that it's possible in R12 now to filt...

Re: sound design vs preset tweakers
More presets than tweaking these days. My time to write is limited, and deadlines are often tight. Time spent making a sound from scratch is time NOT spent writing music (with the exception being sound design cues). One thing that I need to get into the habit of doing is using my down-time, or more ...

Re: Left right arrows not triggering notes in piano roll?
Yeah this has been a FR of mine for ages. Notes should preview when selecting and also nudging up and down with arrows. Currently they don’t and it makes keyboard editing almost useless for me. Here’s hoping!

Re: Reason Studios 13 or 14 (Future Talk)
I'm always ping-pong'ing between Reason and Live, as Live has many things I'm waiting for. But they're not even that big, IMO. If Reason had the following; - Folder tracks - The ability to hear notes in the editor when nudging with arrows - Step input integrated into the sequencer - Re-pitch time st...

Re: "Pump" is back in the shop
I wonder if there's any hope of the 'bug' being fixed where the envelope runs continuously when the transport is stopped and the mode is set to note or gate trigger? It's not a huge thing but...it'd be nice haha. I'd pay for it lol

Orchestral Hyper Metal - Until The End
Hey all! Really pushed my system a lot harder/further than before with this one. Tonnes of orchestration, amp sims, sound design, all sorts. R12 handled it very nicely :) https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/chimpspanner/until-the-end?fbclid=IwAR1H_BPpVYZ9ffDQXGPKIAsEZGdOCFs-qGZUejgBe-UM_4M7trsWnUweO4o...
