Re: [electronic] It's Whatev (demo clip/album teaser)

Thanx for the feedback guys. I just updated the song. I like the overall vibe and undertones. And yes I hate using presets since I'm no good at sound design but I do augment them to make it fit better. I feel like the song is about done. It's a nontraditional format but that's what makes it unique ...

Like having a whole rack for a kick drum? Yes I know what you mean.

Finished track 8 hours later. :D

Re: Bargain Alert Thread [All VST's]

I did try out Bazzism a while ago but ended up with Kick 2 because I really like how it uses visual envelopes to sculpt the kick/snare. Ohhh yeah Bazzism is definitely one of those "use your ears" devices! :D I think I've used it more for actual bass elements rather than the sound of standard punch...

Re: Bargain Alert Thread [All VST's]

How are you liking it? I trialed Big Kick yesterday rather briefly to decided if it was worth it and I was sold after a short time. Oh i see that it's for shaping drums? I thought it was a synth. I'd say it is more of a hybrid. There is synthesis of a simple sub layer and then the sample layering f...

Re: Electronic dance music mastering

Just chuck a limiter on it  I'm not interested in paying for mastering services and I will probably never pay anybody to master my music. If I do have music professionally mastered, it will be for signed releases to a reputable label, and they will have their resources to have it done. I feel ...

...this apparent super popular song that is not actually that popular at all... My brain can't process this! Are you hating on Darude - Sandstorm? The Holy Grail??? :o I'd like to think that most folks are hip to the situation and Darude even mentioned in the video basically he doesn't care...

Re: [chill/downtempo] It's Whatev (demo clip/album teaser)

Penny for your thoughts. Not a fan of this one but you should receive some acknowledgement for putting yourself out there. It sounds like my little cousin playing a saw pad preset on one of those hundred dollar Casio keyboards from Walmart. Timbre and elementary progression isn't doing anything for...

Feeling good and very groovy. Drums are mixed too loud for my preference but it's all good. :)

Re: Idolatry (136 BPM Techno)

Well I didn't say it was bad :P I've just never heard a kick like that before! It works for the track. I started synthesizing kicks and snares with Kick 2 a few months ago, so I've been paying a lot more attention to drums as of late! Ah I've been wondering about Kick 2. I am more into processing t...

Re: Idolatry (136 BPM Techno)

Digging this. Really nice subtleties to keep it interesting. Seems like there is a lot going on but it still sounds clean. Thanks! I'm not use to hearing a kick like that, must be a techno thing? Oh yeah maybe I overcooked the kick. Too many beers deep at this point. I ran a kick through Soundtoys ...

Re: Electronic/synth or guitar based music or both?

My music is drum based with the kick being most prominent in the spectrum and the first element to hit the sequencer most of the time. Granted the drums are electronic, although not subliminally, so I'll just go with synth based music.

Re: What kind of music listener are you?

I listen to Techno, so find Beatport is a perfect venue for me to find new artists, preview individual tracks, and buy only what I want. Yeah but something to keep in mind is electronic music releases in this arena are usually EP's with a few tracks or compilations of tracks from artists signed to ...

Axiom Air 32 Mini

Hi! I recently picked up this controller to purposely downsize from my Akai MPK49 for creative focus. I'm writing some maps this morning for the first time. I see Knob #1 sends a Mod Wheel message when there is already a Mod Wheel button sending the same message. Any idea on how an amateur such as m...
