Re: Serum or Waves Codex

Frankly, Codex is the worst soft synth i demo'd in the last 5 years or so... i'd really go for Serum. IMO, Codex sounds just awful, not nearly as good as anything released in the last 10 years. Filter sucks, even the sound of the raw waveforms isn't very good. Really wished i could say something pos...

Re: Aphex Twin using Player PRO

I'd go nuts with such a mess of a GUI. Just not the way i tick. I need graphical stuff.

BTW, i wouldn't get that much into that "tool" thing really. I think the most important factor is motivation, and the joy of doing what you do.

I found it weird that they actually posted "I am leaving" threads. Were we supposed to beg them to stay? Were the admins supposed to ask for forgiveness? Who says goodbye to a forum anyway? It's like saying congratulations to someone who bought a car. It's rather like saying "Hey, look, i'm so impo...

Re: [Solved] Realtek ALC887 and ASIO

If your onboard chip with ASIO4ALL outperforms your Behringer card, i wouldn't look for another ASIO driver. It won't improve your audio, and if you have good latency, why look elsewhere? Chances are that it actually worsens your ASIO performance. At least that was the case with the manufacturer ASI...

Re: Hardware peeps: what keeps you using it?

I'm sure about that. It's just that machines which give me enough knobs and tactile feeling, mostly range in the 2.000 - 3.000 € region. And USB MIDI would be a must have for me, which is not possible with many attractive vintage VA, or analog synths. And, actually, VA hardware synths seem to be a d...

Re: Hardware peeps: what keeps you using it?

I had one hardware synth in my live, actually 2 times. The Waldorf Blofeld. Let's just say that it was a sobering experience, especially with so few knobs, and so much menu diving. Happy to use Largo instead of that. 256 voices, opposed to 25 on the Blofeld, as many instances as i like, almost all t...

Re: Benedict has left ReasonTalk.

I only can speak for myself, but, the one time i was warned (deservedly), Kenni acted very fair towards me, and even further explained the situation, which he didn't have to do. So, i really think this is a reasonably moderated forum, also looking at how the other mods act, and how present they are ...

This is one of the negative effects of democracy. Originally you had the propellerhead reason ecosystem and all the reason people that loved it. But then when you open it up 2 VST, you opened it up to all sorts of people who come from all sorts of other Daws. that means that there's a good potentia...

Yeah. :) Was just a bit surprising as i thought Google already knows me. But, of course i don't know whether it is a "per site" thing or not, and i have no idea about the deeper dynamics behind it as well.

I'm one of the lucky guys who purchased Tapatalk, when it was still a payware app (back in 2011 or so...). Re: Thor

This is just my opinion, let's get that out of the way. VST synths are essentially stand alone programs that can be 100MB in size on average and contain a ton of code for complicated DSP. That is what gives them their pop compared to RE. Most of the size of synthesizers capable of wavetable synthes...

VST4Free is a sh** site, no offense. They offer magware, and stuff which was discontinued, and not offered anymore. Really, if you want to browse for VST plugins, don't use that site. Use the KVR Audio search. If they don't have it, it's not worth mentioning.

Waldorf Largo and Reveal-Sound Spire are my go-to synths. I also chose Sylenth1 in the poll though, because i also use that one frequently, and Largo wasn't in the poll. :(
