Dude, Apples "Music Memos" app kills me. You just record yourself playing guitar and singing via the iPhone mic and bam if you want it puts a fitting drum and bass (!) track right to the tune with one button - 90% of the time they were spot on for me.

Heres a video I did when REs were released, it was to prove that you can get any message by putting subtitles to speech played backwards... OR WAS IT?

Nah - people get less and less able to read manuals or spend the time to understand an UI or any appliance for that matter so no worries, they'll KISS.

Re: Wish OchenK would come back!
I'm more worried by the ignorance and treatment shown by the Props here. Another tiny nail in my coffin. If this is general behavior, then these are not the best prospects for Reason's future. :? With all love and respect to Jiggery but he does tend to paint things in dark colors sometimes....

Re: Wish OchenK would come back!
Hey, since I'm a fan of conspiracy theories how about this one. Lets say the low sales on REs are taken as a reason to scrap first the RE format and then the rack in Reason. From what I see thats such a tempting solution right now.. Let it bleed out and then remake Reason in the image of all other D...

Re: Have Daw's Reached Their Limit?
I can 100% definitely assure you that in every instance of DAW use the limit was half a meter in front of the screen ;) I also find it kind of funny to expect anything from the DAW itself, really. I mean when was the last time somebody said "Wow I wonder when they will finally bring out a hammer tha...

Re: Professional mastering
I guess the aim is that they sound "professional" quality similar to something you would hear on the radio. But because it is a hobby (not being meant to become a #1 hit, nor make any money out of it...) I am also not willing to spend $100s for 1 song. The service I was using before (which seems to...

Re: Question about VST vs RE performance (uh.. hi Mattias?)
While that is the focus, who knows if it might not have positive results across the board? From the blog: Meanwhile, work on VST performance is ongoing. The result of this work will be released as a separate free update later this year. The reason it’s a separate release is because the performance ...

Re: Question about VST vs RE performance (uh.. hi Mattias?)
There is no „performance issues“ with REs, I tested the TSAR for example and while yes, you can get more instances in Logic overall you can NOT get more instances if you run them at 64 samples buffer size like Reason does. So as always it‘s horses for courses. If you want to create crazy synth and s...

Re: Pure USB to ADAT interface
What I heard told me that 192 recordings makes the bass energy you thought you had unstable. What you most probably heard was your audio interface becoming "unstable" at such high sampling rates. I imagine talks like this in board rooms: Marketing guy: 192kHz is all the rage now, lets use that CEO:...

Re: Pure USB to ADAT interface
Fair point Normen. I don’t do a lot of synth work within Reason anymore—most of it is recorded in. I do remember some of the early quality issues with synths like Subtractor. Idk about "quality", it's just the nature of the beast for me :) A lot of distortion algos sound very different at different...

Re: Pure USB to ADAT interface
I know this is going down that rabbit hole again, but it’s important to bring up. I’ve done the sample rate listening tests in the room I know and trust, and cannot tell the differences between them, all else being equal. In Reason I can - for most projects - very well tell the difference between 4...

Pure USB to ADAT interface
Hi, as I have said a few times here I am using Reason on a separate PC with it's audio interface connected to inputs of my main mixing computer. Currently I have a Line6 UX-8 as the Reason computers interface and connect it via 8 analog I/O's. I always wanted to get rid of the analog connection thou...

Re: Mixing and Mastering - self or professional?
If you are a rock band in the widest sense (i.e. you make acoustic music mainly and play "real" sampled instruments on the computer) - get a mixer and a mastering guy, preferably separate people. If you are an EDM producer you'll probably pretty much mix while you're creating the music so unless you...

Re: midi usb
If Reason doesn't know the specific controller (i.e. it's not in the list) then you can always add them as "Generic Multichannel MIDI Controller" and then select their MIDI ports manually.

Re: audio inputs max n.o.of
Has anyone had any experience recording live with around 16 tracks using Reason? If so can you give specs on the pc, audio interface, general experience etc... I regularly record 16+ channels with an old MacBook Air i5 with 1,6 GHz, no issues. It’s connected to a Midas M32 via USB. Only annoying th...
