Pro Piano Give Away
well, the demo is nice (towards the end): (...) Well, i thought the same. The first example is too harsh and it got me thinking it is quite dull compared to RPi. The second piano patch is interesting. However it sounds so muffled, i wouldn't use it in every genre! I say let's wait and see (or bett...

What the... Avid's Pro Tools 12 has "cloud collaboration" too...?
I sent them my ideas. Can you imagine they already talked about projects, visibility and big review to the EULA 1 month ago?? Anyway... I'm not using discover until the EULA changes. I'll keep collaborating through the internet with DropBox or my nas cloud. Ah, and yes the Avid Market or what the...

Your musical work ethics
I love to collaborate with other people. I always share credit with people i work with, and my only expectation is that one does the same in return. I always credit their work (either as recording artists, writers, composers and so on). I don't like Discover because this easily gets lost in the path...

Hey guys, anyone had the forum blocked at work?
Internal Security bots are tagging it as Games. I sent an email to the security team but they are kind of slow. I wonder if this tag is coming from the site meta data.
Cheers,
MC

LANDR.com - the future of mastering??
BTW, i heard the examples, and what i feel is that the LANDR version is loosing a lot of depth to the point the Reverb tails are completely lost. It's also pumping a lot (when the bass plays you feel everything going down, so it seems to me an exaggerated amount of limiting). Seriously, i prefer to ...

LANDR.com - the future of mastering??
There's another issue at stake, when you work with other people, and in particular Mastering Engineers, you get an additional set of ears, from someone very detached from the other production processes. In result, Master Engineers, often ask the engineer to change things in order to correct issues f...

I got really curious about his stuff with Aphrodite's Child and Vangelis.
Most of his stuff is pretty cheesy, and that kept me away from much of his stuff!

My first Russian commercial!
Music is more than melody...if only the sequence of note lengths were copied, would that still violate copyright? Or if I do another tune with identical instrument setup. Similarities can be a coincidence, but if there is an identical long note sequence then the probability decreases drastically fo...

Yorick, i didn't accuse you of nothing, no need to be so defensive.
I was just trying to state this is a common practice in pop music.

No, he composed the melody(...) Yorick, technically if you didn't change anything in the melody, then it's still his music. It's your arrangement, your production but his music. For example, All by myself has a full chorus that is not part of Rach's concerto. Sting's russians, has a section with a...

Biggest changes to your workflow when switching to Reason 8?
I'm trying to remember how it was done in 7 and previous!
I think you'd have more clicks, and the browser was always jumping around?
I'd have to check it and i don't have an R7 copy installed.

... One thing about the new browsing that I think gets too little spotlight is replacing devices with drag and drop. I've started using that a lot, for trying out different compressors etc, including devices without patch support. Changes my way of working quite a bit. That and the automatic color...

PX-7 Operators Must Need Additive Waveforms( Title Edited )
I really like px7, and part of what i like about it is it's resemblance to DX7, the way it was layered and the fact it translates SO well to DX7 patches. I wouldn't mind having the possibilities of using different waves as operators, thought. Make it a bit more like FM8, whiteout extra effects. IMHO...

Combinator patches inside a ReFill - was does it mean to you?
For me the combo is the most important device in Reason, and that's where we see most sound designers qualiy and versatility.
I like the format of nucleus sound lab, where they always put the combinator in an instruent folder and the device patches that contributeted in a raw folder.
