Re: Reason 12 has arrived
Back when R+ was launching, I vaguely remember some discussion about the length of time purchasers of a perpetual license upgrade would continue to receive product updates. My brain seems to have temporarily seized up, and I can't remember if it was for 12 months or 18 months from the date of purcha...

Re: ProjectSAM RE €70 in Rewards Section
It's actually a lot nicer than I remembered it, (or maybe my playing has improved a bit since then. It was a few years ago.)
Definitely worth the £10 / €20 if you can still get it, guys. The orchestral percussion is lovely.

Re: ProjectSAM RE €70 in Rewards Section
Marvellous. Many thanks MrFigg. Much appreciated. Amazingly, it's listed at £60 GBP for UK punters, so I picked it up for £10. (There's literally nothing else in there that I don't have apart from that big blue monstrosity and, I think, 'Soul School', and that balance of 79 points has just been sitt...

That's really impressive. It looks as if Combi 2 is about to inspire a whole host of interesting new devices and interfaces. It should be an exciting few months.

Re: Looks Like you can buy the Reason 12 Upgrade Right now at Sweetwater...(delivered in minutes)
"And for the first time, you can nest other Combinators inside a Combinator, which opens up delightful new worlds of sonic mayhem." Pretty sure they misworded that a little. Details to follow soon... Ahhh, I got really excited just then about the possibility of Combis inside Combis. (Something I've...

Re: Reason 12 TOMORROW!!!!!!!! Excitement level readings??????
They may well just be for show, which would be a shame really. Hard to tell from the image, but how exciting if they are actually dynamic.
It still looks pretty impressive to me, and suggests that we'll have a lot of scope in our own design efforts.

Re: Reason 12 TOMORROW!!!!!!!! Excitement level readings??????
Well, it looks like DNA Labs is the first to go live with a Combinator 2 Instrument. The Pyrogenesys is already on sale for $15.00.
Looks rather swish, and not too dissimilar in layout from their REs.

Even if we assume it has to be redeemed via the RS store, it would still be downloadable "in minutes". (It could just be quite a lot of minutes.)

But isn’t taking advantage of daft people who can’t seem to manage their money well the very definition of predatory? Again, you're stretching, Mathias. Nobody is 'taking advantage' of anyone. We're just not nannying them. I don't think there's anything especially 'predatory' about assuming that pe...

Re: reason 12 early access
I think you may have missed the analogy… Reason+ WILL charge you, even if you don’t play. Sure, you can pause your subscription, but most people won’t, and, as we all know, that’s how they getcha! Why is that a negative thing, necessarily? :P If people who are 'light users' are daft enough not to p...

Re: Reason 12 in 5 days. Excited ?
How so? I am not aware. You mean people create a loop or such in BiaB and turn that into a refill? Why would that surprise you? BIAB generates great live sounding tracks. It's not just for jazz practicing. I have to admit I'm a bit surprised by that. Isn't that veering incredibly close to passing o...

Whoaaa.... Dimi - Every new amp you release seems to be more responsive than the last. I really didn't think you could top Clarent, but this latest offering is just incredibly versatile.
It's so rewarding to play through. I honestly don't know how you do it. It's stunning work.

Re: Mimic + Ghammy = a match made in heaven!
The newer Digitech pedals have both units built in. Ghammy is capble of dropping and lifting but I think drop and lift does it cleaner. It also has some added effects not present in Ghammy. That's interesting. I've not tried Drop'n'Lift, because I assumed it would be redundant after Ghammy came out...

Re: Mimic + Ghammy = a match made in heaven!
Any other recommendations for Turn2on RE’s? I do tend to skip over them purely on the basis of how fast they tend to appear! It’s hard to keep up with this devs devices. In answer to Faastwalker's question about other Turn2On REs: 'HolyVerb' is beautiful. I had skipped over it for a while, because ...

Mimic + Ghammy = a match made in heaven!
Woohoo... I just made a fantastic discovery that suddenly makes Mimic a lot more CPU efficient in Advanced mode. As many of you will have noticed, CPU usage spikes significantly in Advanced Stretch Mode whenever you go up a few octaves from the root note. As I tend to pirouette all over the place in...

I hope that the new combinator brings forth a whole new era of refills. Refills full of new devices! This was my first thought too... especially after seeing Ryan's sneak preview. A true Refill Renaissance could be a wonderful thing. As a guitarist, I'm really looking forward to building vast multi...

While you people complain I've been making a bunch of music using only or mostly mimic. I love it 😂 Likewise. Yes, there are two or three aspects I find mildly frustrating, but I'm evolving workarounds, and I've come up with a bunch of musical nuggets that I wouldn't have found if I hadn't spent th...

Has anyone established what the longest sample is that Mimic can handle? Is there a defined limit, or is it just ''as much as your hard drive can hold''? Could you, in theory, have a twenty-seven hour long one-shot? --------------------------------------------------- (Added after a bit of experiment...

Re: I'm glad Reason isn't that popular.
Using standard presets worked for Prince! Nobody ever complained that he hadn't painstakingly programmed his patches by hand. I often think that we (as DAW users) spend far too much time worrying that if we don't design all our sounds from scratch, we're 'cheating' somehow. It's similar to the ''mag...

Re: Glacius 2 Update Released
I really like it. It's definitely worth trialing, Creativemind. Jason (Apoc) makes excellent patches, and this device in particular is very tweakable. Yes, technically it's a rompler (hence the massive file size), but it's well designed and can be used in a very 'synthy' way.
