Re: Future of the SDK
Actually nick I'm very interested in what you think about the whole rack extension combinator shop situation, now I know this conversation was primarily about the SDK but as per usual it's expanded but you seem to be fair in what your saying and shouldn't be put off discussing this and other issues...

Re: Future of the SDK
Honestly guys I'm done with this conversation as it takes up far too much headspace. There is even a dev in here aggressively trying to justify it (while laughing at me I might add) which is absolutely mind blowing, unprofessional and just completely inappropriate. I guess it's all fine then if we j...

Re: Future of the SDK
Is that why it's impossible for us normal people to get our hands on it? You should be able to access Gorilla with a RE dev account at RS. I was going to do a video on a simple Gorilla build so people can see what I'm talking about but it turns out Gorilla is still under NDA. So we can go into deta...

Re: Future of the SDK
Gotcha. Yeah I've been pretty impressed with the effects and instruments from ekssperimental sounds and turn2on. They seem to get pretty creative with it. Honestly, I don't want to get into ragging on other devs but most of that stuff (much like some of my own releases) are fairly simple FX chains,...

Re: Future of the SDK
But those using GE do benefit from overall SDK features, don't they? Or are you saying that they are scripting all of that? I know that the most active ones do a fair amount of scripting, but I always thought they had access to all of the same features. Only the GUI side is shared so something like...

Re: Future of the SDK
Judging by where the store is featured right now, I'm a little worried that RS is going to gradually choke off third-party support, eventually returning the SDK to an entirely internal toolchain. They have put the shop back into a better position now with a link next to the search icon. The footer ...

Re: Future of the SDK
I don't think the population of 3rd party developers matters at all for the health of the SDK. Rack extensions are almost 10 years old. RS has used the SDK for every device they have released for the past decade. At this point they have more devices built on the SDK than not. If they want a new fea...

Re: Future of the SDK
I do question further development of the SDK. I mean, I don't want to be a Debbie Downer here but there are only like 5-10 active developers left and around 75% of them are Gorilla IDT devs who won't really benefit from new SDK features anyway. For resources to be directed at further SDK development...

Re: Future of the SDK
Where and when was the SDK specifically mentioned? - I've heard nothing in relation to the RE SDK other than the HD update to Recon.Enlightenspeed wrote: ↑08 Sep 2021
My understanding of the last general communication on this, which we received a few days ago, is that the SDK is now back on the "under investigation" list

Re: Combi 2 backwards compatibility?
It will mean that sound designers working in R12 can't create Combis for all users, even if they're only utilising legacy devices. Yeah that is true, we are now heading into a bit of transition period. Going forward all my forthcoming ReFills and youtube patches will require V12 or higher. When rem...

Re: FREE Combinator 2 graphics asset pack
After that I have in my plan a thing I've been thinking of like a "Combinator Live Build Session" where I just make some Combinators in a livestream format I'd tune in for that and hang out in the chat. :) Well produced Combinator videos would be really welcome. Over the years since the introductio...

Hi Nick, please don't forget as non-subscribers and make some new refills in the future... Don't worry Gosh. The plan is still the same as it was a few months back. Now I'm finished up with Reason 12 I can now get on with other projects. RS also just put the shop back at the top of the main website...

Re: Mimic: New Creative Sampler
That's awesome man! Question: are any of the following presets from you in 12? Deep Electronica 95bpm Lead the Way 108bpm IDM Driver 95bpm Clockwatcher 98bpm These use a Pulverizer with "SKP" loaded as a preset, but I'm not sure. Yeah those are mine. Most should have some variation of SKP prefixed ...

Re: reason 12 early access
Not really relevant in the Reason world though. A reason sub is equivalent in price in the UK as two grams of weed or might just cover 3 pints in a London pub. Edit: monthly price that is of course Errr. I'm not sure why that is directed at me. I am pro subscription and think it is very good value....

Re: reason 12 early access
An interesting observation I've made here is that a few of you guys are clearly quite well off. A few posts back there was chatter of buying houses and purchasing cars for your kids, all the while you've still got enough money for a boatload of studio gear. You are clearly in a completely different ...

Re: Reason Studios Youtube Views 2007-2021
It is pretty awful. The whole 'sounds like you' tag is a pile of nonsense because what it sounds like are a bunch of preset mini refills offered as 'packs' and pigeonholed into arbitrary genres that they suggest you can make a professional song from that will take the world by storm from the comfor...

Re: Reason Studios Youtube Views 2007-2021
On the second, I recall someone saying a while ago that You Tube videos that are embedded, in a forum thread like RT, for instance, don't get their views counted for the official YT count anymore. Not sure if that is correct - anyone? Embeds definitely still push up the view counts, however the way...

Re: Reason 12 Suite?
Is it? Well yeah I went with the 99€ deal back then, but the next fee will maybe be 199€ then. Gotta start putting money aside for the next yearly annual. It wouldn't surprise me if they did renewal deals around the time your sub is due to expire. They will want to keep hold of yearly sub...

Re: Do you have any fun or exciting ideas for the new Combinator?
Honestly, the dude from SKP seems like a genuinely nice guy. I actually bought his "Granular Manoeuvres" back in the day (it was pretty much the last Refill that I ever bought). But I'm fairly confident that much of his perspective is due to the fact that his Rack Extensions are likely not selling ...
